Amy Galbraith Photography I'm Amy, a wedding and elopement photographer for outdoor-loving couples! I specialize in capturing Hi there!

I am a wedding and elopement photographer specializing in adventurous weddings on the Olympic Peninsula and Pacific Northwest. I shoot in a documentary style, capturing the natural moments in your day without imposing upon them. I live for the photos that capture candid, real emotion -- those are the images that have the power to transport you back in time to that very moment. I believe those phot

os are only possible when your photographer melts into the background and lets your day progress organically. My low-impact approach probably springs from another one of my passions: the rugged, natural beauty of the backcountry. Since 2010, I have had the time of my life documenting love in the beautiful and unique destinations here in the Pacific Northwest and Jackson Hole.

Somehow, we got it all! Moody clouds in the mountains, waiting out a rainstorm at the lake, a full rainbow, and a golden sky to close out the day on the coast.

Cassandra & Dustin started their morning tucked into a cabin at the base of Hurricane Ridge, making breakfast together with their people before heading up into the mountains. We had that crisp fall air, golden light, and just enough color in the trees to remind you the season was shifting.

By the time we made it down to Lake Crescent, the rain came in. We waited it out under the trees, slowing everything down for a bit… and then the clouds broke just enough to give us sunbeams and the softest glow and rainbow across the water.

And then somehow we ended the day at the beach with a sky that turned pink and gold with the most magical sunset.

It wasn’t perfect in the traditional sense, but it was something even better.

If you’re open to whatever the day brings out here, it usually gives you more than you expected.

One of the biggest questions couples ask when planning an Olympic National Park elopement is:

“Do we need a full day of photography?”

The answer depends on the kind of experience you want to create. A half-day elopement (around 4 hours) is perfect if you’re envisioning something simple and focused. This can be a ceremony at a beautiful location like Lake Crescent or Hurricane Ridge, some portraits exploring nearby, and then celebrating together afterward.

A full-day elopement (8 hours or more) creates space for the entire adventure. Think slow mornings getting ready, exploring multiple locations across the park, a ceremony tucked into the forest or along the coast, and finishing the day chasing sunset somewhere incredible.

Olympic National Park is huge, and one of the best parts of eloping here is experiencing more than one landscape in a single day! Mountains, forests, beaches, lakes...dream!!

More time means less rushing, more adventure, and a day that actually feels like an experience, not just a photo session.

If you're not sure which option fits your vision yet, that’s exactly what I help couples figure out during the planning process!

They flew all the way from Ohio for this day… and didn’t invite a single guest. Not because they didn’t have people they loved, but because they wanted to experience it fully, just the two of them. We started in the mountains at Hurricane Ridge, where it felt like peak summer! We had sun, warmth, wide open views. They shared their vows up there, just the two of them, taking their time and really soaking it in.

Later, we wandered along the shores of Lake Crescent, slowing things down and letting the day breathe a little. And then we ended out on the coast at Rialto Beach - completely different energy. Fog rolled in, the air cooled off, and we hiked out to Hole in the Wall where they explored tidepools and got way too excited about sea stars (honestly, same). They didn’t rush anything, they didn’t follow a strict timeline, they just experienced the day as it unfolded. And one of my favorite parts? I got to sign their marriage license as their officiant, and we found two kind strangers along the trail to make it all official!

Simple. Personal. Completely theirs.

If you’ve been wondering what it actually looks like to elope without guests…this is it 🤍

If a day like this feels like your kind of thing, I’d love to help you plan it - from locations and timing to building a timeline that actually feels like you.

Fall days in Olympic National Park have a way of keeping you on your toes ✨ Cassandra and Dustin traveled from the Midwest to celebrate their wedding surrounded by everything that makes this place so special. We started the morning at their cozy cabin near Hurricane Ridge where Dustin cooked breakfast sandwiches for everyone before heading up into the mountains. They shared private vows surrounded by October color at Hurricane Ridge, held their ceremony in the mossy forests of Lake Crescent (with a surprise rainbow after a little rain), and finished the day watching the sky turn pink at Salt Creek Beach. It was mountains, forest and coast all in one unforgettable fall day.

One of the things I love most about elopements here is how many different landscapes couples can experience within a single adventure. Olympic National Park really shows off in the fall!

If you’re dreaming of an Olympic National Park elopement, I’d love to help you plan an adventure like this.

This is what I mean when I say I’m out exploring Olympic National Park on my time off.

Finding the little hidden gems.
The quieter river bends.

The lesser-known corners that don’t always make it onto the “top 10” lists.

This weekend it was just me and my daughter, wandering along the river, skipping stones, noticing how the light moved through the trees and how the water shifted with every turn. No agenda, just curiosity and time outside on a drizzly day.

And honestly… this is a huge part of how I work as a photographer.

Because when I’m scouting and exploring on my own, I’m learning the small things that make a place special. Like where the light hits at certain times of day, where you can step away from the crowds, where the trail opens up into something unexpected.

So when couples tell me they want something that feels personal, relaxed, and a little off the beaten path, I already have ideas waiting for them.

Not just the iconic viewpoints, but the in-between places that feel like your own.

This is the part of the job I’ll never stop loving. 🌿

Planning an elopement in Olympic National Park can feel a little overwhelming at first! There are so many incredible places to choose from, and no two days ever look the same here.

One of my favorite things about photographing elopements in ONP is helping couples realize their day doesn’t have to follow a template. It can be slow and quiet, adventurous and playful, or a mix of both.

Maybe that looks like coffee together near Lake Crescent before heading into the park.

Maybe it’s sharing vows surrounded by forest along the Elwha River.

Maybe it’s exploring the coastline at Ruby Beach, or ending the day chasing light at Hurricane Ridge.

Your elopement doesn’t have to be just a ceremony and photos, it can be an experience you actually live together.

I just shared a new blog post with 5 meaningful ideas for what couples can actually DO on their elopement day in Olympic National Park 🌲✨

Hi 👋 It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, so I figured it was time for a little re-introduction.

I’m Amy, a photographer based in Port Angeles, Washington. Most days you’ll find me somewhere between the mountains, the forests, or the coast… usually with a camera in my hand, paint on my clothes, or both.

I photograph elopements and intimate weddings for couples who want their day to feel relaxed, meaningful, and connected to nature. They are the kind of days that involve hiking trails, exploring beaches, and slowing down enough to actually experience it all.

When I’m not photographing, I’m in the studio painting landscapes inspired by the same places I explore with my family.

I’m also a mom, a snowboarder, surfer, mountain biker, and someone who truly believes that being outside changes the way we see the world (and ourselves).

If you’re new here, welcome! 🤍

If you’ve been here a while, I’m really glad you’re still along for the ride.

Tell me where you’re from or what kind of adventures you love most - I always love getting to know the people behind the screen.

Some wedding days follow the plan, and some become even better because they don’t.

Ashley & Jeremy started their Olympic National Park elopement at sunrise, hiking through quiet forest trails to a waterfall as the park slowly woke up around us. From there, we wandered along Lake Crescent before meeting their closest family and friends for a mountain ceremony at Hurricane Ridge. The clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and the ridgelines disappeared in and out of view.
We had planned to end the night with a sunset hike but the weather had other ideas.

So we waited.

The next evening, the mountains opened up. Clouds moved in and out all night long, catching the last light in the most unreal way. It felt slow. Intentional. Completely worth it.

This is why I build flexibility into every elopement timeline. Weather shifts. Light changes. But when you give the day room to breathe, magic tends to show up.
Mother Nature doesn’t always give you predictable, but it almost always gives you something better.

If you’re dreaming of an adventure elopement in Olympic National Park, let’s start planning. ✨

Have you been before? I went for my birthday last year and have another trip planned to meet up with my bestie this year. Special note: I’d love to photograph an elopement here someday!

Today I published a page on my website I’ve been dreaming up and it’s all about proposals and engagements in Olympic National Park! If you’re thinking about popping the question this year or celebrating your love with a photo session in a stunning location I’ve got you covered ✨

This particular proposal from last summer was way too much fun. K wanted to propose to W at the top of a hike, so I followed them the whole way up, keeping my distance and blending in as just another random hiker until that perfect moment when K got down in one knee. W was so surprised and we finished off the evening with a gorgeous sunset session on the hike back down.

Planning a proposal (especially areas where we will be out of cell service) takes proper preparation and knowledge of the area and I absolutely love walking couples through this process. You can find more information about these sessions via the link in my profile or send me a DM!
