✨Blue Hour & Beyond✨

The last few years or so I have been telling couples during our face-times, "we are not restricted by daylight!" They usually look at each other inquisitively but also with a hint of excitement in their eyes.

"We aren't?!" They reply and I say "nope! All we need is a little bit of light. Maybe a headlamp, headlights from a car, lanterns, a candle as long as we're careful or in some cases, light pollution from a city. And likely a tripod!"

As long as you have the patience, we can make some serious magic happen! But even if we only get half of the photo, I have plenty of star and milky way photos that I could try photoshop the end result. Ya know the old school way, WITHOUT the use of AI!!!

Would you be excited to attempt astro photography on your wedding day?!

It's worth repeating over and over...

Just because you get engaged (HUGE congratulations btw!) does not mean you suddenly need to start doing what everyone else wants you to do! Yeet tradition out the window and do what makes you happy. Again, WHAT MAKES YOU TWO HAPPY!

And if what makes you happy is eloping outside, then I'm ready to help you get started!

I’ll keep trying…

I’ll keep trying to share my artwork.
I’ll keep trying to share love stores.
I’ll keep trying to connect with others.
I’ll keep trying to not get overwhelmed.
I’ll keep trying to push myself.
I’ll keep trying to be creative.
I’ll keep trying to understand the unwanted changes of life.
I’ll keep trying to find joy.
I’ll keep trying to be myself in a world of carbon copies.
I’ll keep trying to have an open mind.
I’ll keep trying to be show love and tolerance.
I’ll keep trying to seek the truth.
I’ll keep trying not to get upset so quickly.
I’ll keep exploring.
I’ll keep more to myself.
I’ll keep trying to love myself in a world that tells me I’m flawed.
I’ll keep trying to laugh.
I’ll keep trying to be silly.
I’ll keep trying to keep my head above water.
I’ll keep trying not to lose my patience.
I’ll keep trying to find rest & peace.
I’ll keep trying…

Why you should have an all-day elopement…

I think I’ll make this into a series. There is a lot of reasons and not enough space to type. But let’s start with the most obvious…

1. Less stressful——————
Example: If something bad should happen, there is plenty of time to fix the issue.

Like when my bride Aly found out just over a week before her wedding that the area she had her heart set on visiting was still closed due to snow. She was heart-broken. But, because we had enough time in the day for Plan B. That meant driving 4 hours round trip to get the beautiful views she wanted in Glacier NP. All well still having plenty of time for photos of her getting ready, their ceremony, and reception with their family and friends. But that wouldn’t have been possible if she only had 6 hours.

But if you are also a highly anxious person or couple, not having the pressure cooker of a clock constantly on your mind will also make for a much happier day.

Maybe you want to do something really amazing and adventurous on your big day. Like going kayaking, or on a hike, hot air balloon riding, or my fave, a helicopter ride! All are so much more possible when you give yourselves time to breath & relax. Trust me. After 14 years and over 600 couples. I can tell you that the less stressed you are, the much better your memories AND photos will be.

Wishing life would slow down a little bit. Been over 2 weeks since this stunning session in Yosemite and I’m just now getting the mental capacity to share it!

Is the Olympic National Park on your bucket list?

I hear this over and over from my couples. “I’ve always wanted to come here!” Usually it’s because they love Twilight, sometimes because of what they saw in Instagram. But it’s always the same reaction, “Whoa! How is this place real??”

Seeing has I have basically lived at the base of the ONP my whole life I know him well. I know the backroads and curves of this land just about as well as your lover knows your curves.

So when I get the opportunity to show you around, I made sure you get the best experience possible! For and her man Shane, it was one spectacular show! The ONP was even showing off a bit. And once I was done having my own mind blown by his beauty, I managed to capture some stunning shots!

A few days after Madison and Robert said their “I Do’s” in private, they wanted epic photos all over amazing Yosemite to remember this special time! We went all over the valley together and made memories that will last a lifetime.
