Photography is so often a matter of timing, amongst many other associated factors in getting a decent shot. This was a most opportune time to have captured a temporary migratory stop for this large flock of Roseate Spoonbills in the Corpus Christi Bay area. So amazing to witness this colorful display of aviary activity.

Good advice to make a habit of turning your head to see what's on the "flipside" during your tour of life! Fortunate was I to do just that and be able to capture these beautiful Black-bellied Whistling Ducks in flight with some degree of sharpness.

Memories of a celebrated local attraction during the recent winter months, the Coastal Bend region of south Texas was graced by the presence of this solo American Flamingo. Most admirers were awed by its stunning deep pink color striking a contrast with its surrounding bright White Pelicans. This was a more rare, low-light capture set amidst an overcast evening at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas.

Bird-watcher's paradise during this migration season in south Texas. You'd never know -- if you didn't notice the sound of surrounding traffic -- that you were in the midst of a city in this park of about two square blocks in size.

These beautiful Great Egrets jostling for position on their nests created that moment for me at the Bent Oaks Rookery in Rockport, Texas.
