I don't know about you, but I’ve got springtime on my mind ☀️🌸 And today, I wanted to write a post on why a spring session might be the right fit for you!

1️⃣ 𝗪𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: the spring season is usually more dependable when it comes to weather with average temperatures running between 60 to 65 degrees in early March all the way up to 80+ degrees in May. The only other weather issue to consider for the spring is the rain that March & April will bring. This may mean last minute reschedules in an already hectic senior pre-graduation schedule, so booking early spring is best.⁣
⁣
2️⃣ 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧: this is the season for all the fun & flirty trends! Trendy textures for spring are chambray, ruffles, 2-piece outfits, and lace in colors of all your favorite pastels like lemon, blush, sky blue, lavender, and pistachio. Opt for fun rompers and mini dresses in floral patterns or short and maxi dresses in gingham or paisley!⁣

3️⃣ 𝗪𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬: we all know that spring in the PNW means an abundance of wildflowers backed with lush green botanicals. The usual issue though is figuring out in what month the blooms will make their appearance. I've journaled that they usually show up anywhere between mid-March to late May and are usually gone by June. And if you’re specifically looking for rhododendrons in your senior pictures, then you’ll need to wait until April at the earliest for them to make their entrance, depending on temperatures and rainfall. Foxglove tends to be in full-bloom the end of May along with wisteria.

Graduated Seniors (aka Class of 2022)… how are those grad thank you cards coming? Are they all sent out yet? No???? 😱 Okk, I have a treat for you then… let’s talk about graduation gift THANK YOU etiquette!

If you sent invitations or announcements prior to graduation, by now you have received gifts! Because of that, thank you cards are a must have item in your grad collection. Thank yous should be sent within one month of your celebration or from the date you received your gift.
 When you received all your amazing grad gifts at your grad party or by mail or even VENMO, it’s best to follow it up with a heartfelt thank you card to let your loved ones know how much you appreciate them! I don’t care if your 87 year old grandmother sent you a stick of bubblegum in her congrats grad card to you; tell her how much chewing gum helps you focus on solving algebra problems! Writing thank yous is a lost art and I cannot tell you how meaningful it is to her to receive a thank you from her beloved grandchild.

Do NOT send a thank you text or email with a generic “Thanks for the gift!”, but DO show your appreciation for your gifts with a handwritten note.

Here are a few tips to follow when writing the perfect thank you card:

✍🏼 Thank your gift-giver for the specific gift they gave you.

✍🏼 Include a note about how you plan to use it.

✍🏼 Consider sharing a fun moment you had with them at your celebration.

✍🏼 Try not to write your thank you notes all at one time. Break it up within a few days to make sure your words are thoughtfully written.

✍🏼 Send it soon! Don’t wait until August – get those babies out in the mail!

Because I am a Virgo and I like to prepare you for your senior session in advance so that it isn't a hurried thrown together hot mess! It takes time & planning, location scouting and helping you with the perfect wardrobe! So, that means, if you want a session this fall (with beautiful weather and warm seasonal tones), this summer (aka, right now) we need to get you booked! 🚨 Hey Senior....your Mom's already thinking about senior photos! Make sure you have a hand in who YOU want as your senior photographer! 🚨

Here are 3 things that make Sheri Vitullo Photography different from other local area photographers:

1️⃣ Unmatched senior session prep! Worried about what to wear for your session? How about makeup and hair styling ideas? Do you even know where to find a professional H&MU who is highly skilled that you trust with your beautiful face? I DO! and I've got you covered! Long before your session, I will send you a Welcome Pack full of tips on how to prepare for your senior session, including: a what to wear guide, face & hair prep tips, my FAVE shops to curate your outfits, nail prep tips (along with my fav nail salon), a day of shoot packing checklist and MORE!

2️⃣ Your session will never feel rushed EVER! Most studios only offer 60-90 minutes sessions. Not me! Shoot, I'm just getting started at 90 minutes! Most of my sessions last two and a half hours to ensure we document every aspect of your personality and passions which allows for a variety of looks.

3️⃣ Organic editing process: I pride myself on a clean editing process that won't make you look like you're made of plastic. I also do NOT apply crazy filters that make it look like I slapped on a weird Instagram filter. I believe in editing that highlights beautiful light and colors while maintaining your skin tone and texture, plus a little teeth whitening and getting rid of those pesky blood vessels in the eyes.
