Today I was so overwhelmed with the little things in life, the laundry is backlogged, theres dirty dishes in the sink, the floors need vaccumed and mopping oh so badly… and don’t even get me started on the tiny pieces of plastic toys that will randomly get stuck on the bottom of your foot when you’re walking to the kitchen to get a glass of water..
Somewhere in the mix of the overwhelming heap of mess I was staring at I met a girl name gratitude, her middle name is humbleness, by the way… She showed me that within that mess, there is so much more meaning to it than just a “mess”.
That mess can equate to memories and blessings.
So much laundry to do? Good job mama, your littles have clothes, what a joy it is to have nice clothing when others may be wearing the same outfit for the past week or don’t even have access to clean clothes.
Dirty dishes in the sink? Good job mama, you fed your kiddos, I’m sure It wasnt the easiest task… they normally fight you over the broccli dont they? BUT hey… at least the dishes made it to the sink, and we have running water to get them done!
Floors need vacuuming and mopping? Good job mama, dirty floors mean there was some hardcore playing going on, did they track the dirt in from playing out back again? We can sweep it up; but remember that mud print? Your babies had so much fun that day!
That God aweful tiny piece of plastic (it’s probably a Lego let’s be real) that got stuck in your foot while you were just trying to go get a drink and snack? Good job mama, your babies have toys! They may be everywhere but take a step back and look at that mess and realize that mess is proof that you are doing such a good job, mama.
Motherhood is the most humbling and rewarding hood I’ve even stepped into. 🫶🏼
