Well said!
Rant incoming... ๐คฃ
This photo of the Principality Stadium is a perfect example of what people see... but not what it took to get here.
People see the finished image. They don't see the years of learning, the mistakes, the early mornings, late nights, travelling, planning flights, checking the weather, editing for hours, investing in equipment, or constantly pushing myself to improve.
When I started, I couldn't fly properly. I couldn't edit photos or videos. I knew absolutely nothing about social media. I asked questions, but most of the time I got little or no help. There were times I honestly thought about giving up because I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere.
Instead, I kept going.
I spent hours... probably days... watching YouTube videos, reading guides, making mistakes, practising, and teaching myself everything from flying and editing to growing a social media page. Nothing was handed to me. Everything I've achieved has come through hard work, determination, and refusing to give up. Even now, I'm still learning every single day because there's always something new to improve.
That's why I've always tried to help other drone flyers starting out. I know exactly what it's like to be a beginner with nobody willing to point you in the right direction, so if I can save someone else some of that struggle, I will.
What disappoints me the most is that some of the people I've spent time helping, answering questions for, and encouraging along the way now seem to be the ones criticising me. I never helped anyone expecting anything in return. Seeing some of the people I've helped now criticise me is disappointing, but it won't change who I am or how I treat others.
So yes, it can be frustrating when it feels like some people would rather criticise what I do than put that same energy into improving themselves. Whether that's jealousy, negativity, or something else, it won't stop me doing what I enjoy.
Having almost 16,000 followers on Facebook alone doesn't make me the best, but it tells me that the years of hard work, persistence, and refusing to give up have connected with people. For that, I'm genuinely grateful ๐
To everyone who has supported me from day one, thank you. I'll keep flying legally, keep learning, keep creating, and keep helping those who genuinely want to learn.
Anyway... rant over. Back to doing what I love. ๐๐ธ
