I’ve spent the past 11 years photographing mothers holding, soothing, laughing, gathering their babies close. And every time, I’m reminded… it’s never about perfect smiles or still hands. It’s about the way they reach for you. The way you’re their safe place without even trying.
To the ones in these images, you are everything to them. Even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.
And today, I’m holding space for more than what we usually see.
For the women who are still waiting for their babies… the ones who carry hope, grief, and love all at once.
For the mothers whose journeys don’t look the way they imagined.
For the ones who mother in ways that aren’t always visible, through nurturing, guiding, showing up, loving deeply.
Motherhood is not one shape. It’s not one story.
It’s love. It’s longing. Its presence.
Happy Mother’s Day!
