Well I guess it's time to dust off the ol IG after a long break. Anyone that knows me, knows I don't love social media - so the break was nice! It's a new year though so I'm going to try a new approach and see if I can post a little more. I definitely have a TON of great things to show, so we'll see how it goes! For now, here's a few from the first waterfront shoot I've done in years. I used to love shooting down there but... things happened and it got a little sketchy. Glad to be able to do it again!

I'm actually headed to Langdon Farms today to shoot Angela's sister Patricia's wedding! Really looking forward to spending some time with this great family both today and next year!

Headed back to Abernethy today for wedding 3 of the weekend! Here's a few from last weekend in Abigail's Garden. It took and extra year, but it finally happened! Kelly + RJ looked amazing and it turns out RJ is an expert dipper. Always a tough move, but they made it look good. Even though there was an extra long wait, it was worth it and everything turned out perfectly. Oh, and Lance Bass made a surprise virtual visit, but that's a photo for another day 😉⁠

You know those times when you're walking along a path and see two trees on either side, then scramble up the bank to look at them from a different angle and see that they create a hole that would be perfect to put a couple in with one tree in the foreground and the other in the background, then bring a couple there and it works out perfectly complete with sun flare? No? I'm the only nerd? Well hopefully I at least score some points for that run-on sentence 😜⁠

Paula + Channy's wedding was originally scheduled for last year. As was the case with many couples, they had to change plans due to covid and rescheduled for this year. As the weeks crept closer to their rescheduled date it was clear that it wasn't going to work out the way they hoped this year either. ⁠

While many would have thrown up their hands and quit, they decided to do something really cool instead. They got dressed up in their wedding attire along with their bridal party and went went and took pictures!! I started the day at The Nines with them and got detail and getting ready photos, then we went to their original venue (Gray Gables) for bridal party, family and couples portraits. After that we went back to The Nines where they had a cake waiting so we could do some cake cutting photos.⁠

In the end it was basically everything from a normal wedding day minus the ceremony and dancing. They had their favorite people with them and we made some great memories. So cool!

The first wedding of the year happened just days after the ice storm. The devastation the storm caused was unbelievable and Abernethy got hit pretty hard. The day before the wedding we were told we probably wouldn't be able to shoot in the gardens because it was too dangerous. Ugh. But...the staff at Abernethy is nothing short of amazing and to our surprise they had a lot of it cleaned up when we arrived. They gave us the green light to shoot outside so we made the best of it! There was still a lot of debris, wood piles, sideways trees, stumps, etc. around but with a little creative shooting Abernethy looks as amazing as ever.⁠
⁠
Jessica + Tyler looked amazing and had smiles on their faces all day. After everything the world threw at them they still got married and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. Congrats you two!
