After giving birth to my first child, my beautiful son, I experienced postpartum depression. He was perfection but I was in a dark and confusing place. With a lot of support and patience, I got through it. When I picked up my camera, I felt human again and it was my sacred creative place. Now, I am honored to photograph families from a space of compassion, understanding, and no judgements. I belie

ve there has to be community within motherhood--it's too much to bear on our own. I am here to show you how incredibly beautiful you are now, no matter how chaotic motherhood is.

Every week I hear the same thing.

“We should probably book a mini session. My child won’t last through a full session.”

I completely understand why parents think that.

But after photographing hundreds of families, I’ve found the opposite is true.

Kids don’t need less time.
They need more.

The first 10–15 minutes are usually when they’re figuring me out. They’re exploring. They’re seeing if this is going to be fun or if they’re expected to stand still and smile.

Once they realize there isn’t any pressure, everything changes.

That’s when the real moments happen.

The giggles.
The cuddles.
The games.
The curiosity.
The little personalities you never want to forget.

A mini session can feel rushed because we’re racing the clock. A full session gives your child the freedom to simply be a kid.

You don’t have to worry about making them smile or getting them to cooperate.

That’s my job.

I’ll gently guide your family the entire time, keep things moving naturally, and create a relaxed experience where everyone can breathe.

If you’ve ever looked through my portfolio and thought, “I wish my family photos could look like that,” this is the biggest reason why.

It’s never because the kids were perfectly behaved.

It’s because they had enough time to settle in, have fun, and forget there was even a camera.

Trust the process.

Your kids don’t have to be perfect.

They just have to be themselves. ❤️

I’m coming up on a decade of photographing families, and I still think some of my favorite sessions are with families experiencing the Oregon Coast for the very first time.

The look on their faces as they take in the towering cliffs, and the moment their toes hit the cold Pacific Ocean, always reminds me just how special this place is.

If you grew up here, you already know the water is freezing… but you run into it anyway.

If you’re visiting, there’s something so fun about watching people experience a beach that’s completely different from what they expected. No warm water. No palm trees. Just wild, rugged beauty that somehow makes you want to stay a little longer.

This session was especially meaningful to me because this incredible mom is one of my photography students, and over the year I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow. Somewhere along the way, student turned into friend, and that’s been one of the greatest gifts.

Watching your journey and hearing your stories about motherhood has been so inspiring. I’m incredibly grateful our paths crossed. 🤍

If you’re looking for one of the best places for family photos in Portland, Oregon, it’s hard to beat Hoyt Arboretum. 🌿

This session had everything I love about the Pacific Northwest. Towering evergreens, peaceful forest trails, soft filtered light, and that lush green backdrop that makes Portland feel like home.

One of my favorite things about Hoyt Arboretum is that it doesn’t have to be a sunset location. This family wanted an earlier session, and it worked beautifully. The dense tree canopy creates gorgeous light throughout much of the day, making it a great option for families with young kids, grandparents, or anyone who simply doesn’t want to stay out until sunset.
