Okay, this is pretty freaking cool. 🥹

I’m officially a Click Pro Elite Photographer!

I submitted my work to be reviewed by a panel of photographers and was accepted based on my scores in lighting, composition, technical skills, processing, creativity + intention.

After almost 10 years of photography, it feels really freaking good to still be learning, growing and pushing myself creatively.

I broke a few of my own photography rules for this one and I’m so glad I did.

I squeezed this mama and her daughters in last minute, we shot earlier than I normally would, and we definitely did NOT start an hour before sunset.

And you know what? Totally worth it and I LOVED how they turned out.

These Cannon Beach family photos turned out so beautiful, and I’m so glad we made it happen.

Turns out even a Cannon Beach family photographer can break her own rules every once in a while. 😉

✨ 3 slightly unhinged things I do at your family photo session...

1. I don't ask your kids to behave. 🤷‍♀️

Seriously.

I'd rather they be curious, silly, cuddly, and completely themselves than sit perfectly still and say "cheese." My job is to meet them where they're at, not the other way around.

2. I ask them to stay up past their bedtime. 🌅

Sounds questionable, I know. 😂

But after photographing hundreds of families, I can confidently say that kids of all ages do amazingly well during sunset sessions, even in the middle of summer when bedtime gets pushed a little later. Plus, that evening light? Totally worth it.

3. We tell fart jokes.💨

I'm not above a good toot joke.

If making goofy noises gets genuine belly laughs and real smiles, I'm all in. I promise your kids will think I'm hilarious... and you probably will too.

Family photos don't have to feel stiff or stressful.

Sometimes they just need a little extra sunshine, a few fart jokes, and permission for your kids to be kids. ❤️
