Some big news from this week…
The results from IAPBP are in, and I’m honestly still taking it all in.
For 2026, I brought home 5 awards, including:
Best Overall – Birth Details
Best Overall – Postpartum
Best in Birth Details (Black & White)
Best in Delivery (Black & White)
Best in Postpartum (Fine Art)
And my 5 other entries all ranked in the top 10% of all photos sent in!
This work will always be about the families first. The stories. The trust. The moments you invite me into that are so raw and real and fleeting.
To have those moments recognized on a global level is something I don’t take lightly.
I’m so deeply grateful to the families who let me step into their birth space and to the birth community that continues to inspire me every single year.

Hi, I’m Natalie! I’m not the type of doula-photographer who’s going to sugarcoat birth. Your body, your rules, and that's the bare minimum. I’ll be the one in your corner: honest, intuitive, grounded, sarcastic, and devoted to seeing it through with you. We’ll navigate what you want, what scares you, and make sure your birth unfolds on your terms, feeling supported the whole way through.
I’ve birthed my own two babies unmedicated with midwives, and I know firsthand what it means to cross that threshold and emerge on the other side. A little wiser, a little breathless, but absolutely euphoric and deeply empowered...for life. And because I’ve lived it, I understand the ache of crappy cell phone photos and hazy memories from the day you walked between worlds to welcome your baby earthside.
That’s why I also document births through photography and film, so your transformation is remembered as vividly as you felt it. And so your partner gets to be in it with you, fully present with their hands holding onto yours, not a camera.
These days, I’m raising our kids with my husband on a little homestead, digging in the garden, chasing chickens, and shuttling the kids between soccer and dance class.
And through it all, this truth remains: birth is sacred, fleeting, and once-in-a-lifetime. My purpose is to support you in it, and preserve it for you, so your birth story becomes one you can hand down through generations.

A midwife turned mother. Birth plan pivots.

And the sweetest surprise waiting at the end.

Being a dad isn't just showing up once the hard part is over. It's being there in the thick of labor, in the trenches of postpartum, in the daily choices to love, support, and grow right alongside your partner and child.
This generation is waking up to that. We're unlearning the passive dad stereotypes and stepping into something deeper! Dads can be nurturers, advocates, co-parents, and emotional anchors.
Here’s to the fathers who are doing the work. We see you. Keep going.
Happy Fathers Day!

June is Pride Month. Which is just always a good time to remind everyone about how important inclusivity is in birth work.
If the birth space doesn’t feel safe for everyone then it’s not a safe space at all. period.
I’m honored to serve all families with intention, clarity, and advocacy according to their preferences and unique needs. Because being inclusive isn’t an “extra” in how we see and care for families, it should be the baseline.
To every LGBTQIA+ parent, partner, birth worker, and baby entering this world: you belong. Not just during Pride Month, but all the time!

Birth photography is right for you if…
🧡You want to truly remember the day your baby came earthside—not just the facts, but the feelings.
🧡It’s a bigger deal than your wedding day (yep, I said it and believe it).
🧡You know this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—and there’s no do-over.
🧡You want your partner fully in it with you, not fumbling with the camera or iPhone.
🧡You want to relax into your labor knowing someone else is capturing the story.
🧡And honestly? You know you’ll regret not having those photos later.
If you checked any or all of these then it’s right for you. No, your birth doesn’t have to look a certain way - because birth stories of all shapes and sizes are worth telling!
