I know I just did this great garden glow-up, but I've decided next year I want to add a *small* garden bed just for flowers that I can cut and put on my table. Because flowers make me happy, and people should do more of what makes them happy!

It really is the little things.

With that being said, anyone have any suggestions for flowers to put in said garden bed so that I have flowers growing all season that I can cut?

One thing that never occurred to me about motherood is that one day my children would want to match me. Lily is almost 10 and James is almost 6, and they BOTH still regularly initiate matching outfits. I don't know when this will end, so I'm going to ride this train for as long as I can because it's seriously the cutest.

One year ago, we packed up the car and headed west.

Thousands of miles (8387 to be exact), so many memories, and more beauty than I could have imagined. National parks, cute little diners, incredible sunsets, so many snacks, and countless moments that made us stop and say, “Can you believe this? Look at this!”

Looking back, I’m just so thankful we went.

Life was full, money was tight, and taking a trip like this didn’t exactly make sense on paper. More than one person questioned whether a single mom should take two young kids on a 31-day road trip. I can't say I blame them, but I guess I'm a special kind of crazy.

Looking back, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. It was a no-brainer for me.

Somewhere between the endless roads, early mornings, and breathtaking views, God reminded me just how creative He is. Every mountain, canyon, desert, and sunset pointed back to the same Creator.

A year later, I don’t remember every single mile we drove, but I remember how I felt - free, present, completely in awe, and SO incredibly grateful. Sometimes it just didn't feel real to me that we were actually doing the dang thing.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away from the routine long enough to notice what God has been showing you all along.

And honestly, I think that trip planted the seed for an entirely new season of life for me. One I’m really excited to share more about soon. 💜
