Too many sheep and sea cliffs out here 😔
Very excited to be back in the Faroe Islands for Year 2 of the Self-Navigating Car Initiative with .
The goal of this project is simple: encourage travelers to venture beyond the most popular stops and discover some of the quieter corners of the islands.
For this route, I started on the island of Kunoy before winding through the village of Árnafjørður, hiking beyond the tiny settlement of Múli, and eventually ending the day in Viðareiði beneath Cape Enniberg - the tallest sea cliff in Europe.
The best part? I never chose any of these locations myself. The route was selected entirely by a self-navigating rental car designed to spread tourism more evenly throughout the Faroe Islands.
