The tiredness that I feel tonight from staying up until 4:15am yesterday morning makes me question that decision....I can sleep when I’m dead. The time that I spent with the Lord last night in my front yard alone under the beauty of His creation was more valuable to me than any pic I’ve ever taken. Thank you, Lord for being so present with me in the early hours of the morning.

Psalm 121:4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

I will just say that recently I have been going through some overwhelming mental warfare. I’ve lost desire to do the things that I love. I’ve lost the desire to be healthy. I felt joy slipping from my fingertips. Today I had a couple minutes of downtime, I sat down and forced myself to do something that I love editing photos I’ve taken. I looked back at photos of when we were in New Zealand, this image reflects how I have been feeling lately. When I look at the reflection in this water nothing is extremely clear. It is blurred and distorted that’s where I feel like my state of mind has been for the last month. When I look just above the reflection in this image, I see things so clearly without hesitation or doubts I know exactly what I’m looking at.
So this post tonight is for whoever is walking in the same valley I’m walking through, you hold on, and recieve this Word for an ointment to your soul. Today the Lord spoke to me through this photo I took back in the spring, He said to me the things that you’re going through right now are not of me. They are not my desires for you. And he reminded me of a verse of scripture that I had written on the table of my heart many years ago, and I understood in that moment what He was trying to say to me through this image and through the power of his Word.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (NLT)
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Dear Heavenly Father,
When doubts and negativity overwhelm me,
remind me of Your unconditional love and promises.
Renew my mind, restore my joy and peace.
Help me see myself through Your eyes.
In Jesus Name.

Also known as That Wanaka Tree, 100-year old willow tree stands alone in the cool water of Lake Wanaka at Roys Bay. In the early 1900s the tree started its life as a fence post in that very spot – just a branch chopped off a large willow plugged in the ground, amazing!!!

“Bella, My Shining Star”

For years, my camera and I traversed the globe, capturing life’s breathtaking beauty. Chasing waterfalls, milky ways, and cityscapes, my passion was rooted in the perfect shot. But then, you entered my world, and everything shifted.

You picked up a camera, and our adventures transformed. Now, my greatest joy lies not in the destinations, but in sharing the journey with you. Watching you master settings, framing life’s magic, and witnessing your creative vision unfold.

Last night, beneath the ethereal dance of the Northern Lights and Milky Way, we captured something extraordinary. Not just stunning photos, but moments of pride, laughter, and connection. This image of you, lost in the beauty of the universe, is my treasure.

Your presence has redefined my joy. I delight in your unique perspective, your eye for detail, and the stories your photos tell. Together, we’re creating a new narrative, one frame at a time.

Bella, my love for photography remains strong, but it’s now intertwined with the love I have for you. You’ve become my favorite subject, my partner in creativity, and my guiding light.

Keep snapping, keep exploring, and keep shining bright, my dear Bella.

Last night Bella and I went out to Maple Benner Road around 11pm. That road must have gotten flooded with all the recent hurricane weather.....seems so weird to say that, but here we are living in Ohio dealing with all that and then seeing skies like this with a milky way to boot... we had a good night out shooting. You can see along the fence all the creek debris from the flood.

Bella and I went over to the Kentucky hill around midnight last night to shoot the "northern lights" or whatever they are??? But anyway....The Grant bridges blue lights were so bright up there it caused a blue beam to go overhead so it kinda looked cool with that added effect mixed with the "northern lights".

We got some up on Maple Benner Rd earlier and will post them later.

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV)
For His anger [is but for] a moment, His favor [is for] life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy [comes] in the morning.

“Pier of Strength”

A weathered pillar, sturdy and wide,
Concrete sentinel, beside the tide.
The blue-green depths, a fisherman’s pride,
Inviting all, to cast and abide.

Behind, the sky, a cloudy throne,
Colors aflame, as day is grown.
The sun, a burning ember low,
Casting shadows, where sea and pier do flow.

Gulls cry out, as lines are cast,
A symphony, that echoes vast.
The pier stands firm, through wave and tide,
A bastion, where men come to reside.

The ocean’s roar, a constant beat,
A challenge issued, to those who meet.
The pier’s rugged charm, a siren’s call,
Luring dreamers, to its watery wall.
