Been busy lately and just not had the camera in my hands as much. Lots going on in personal life. Started a new position at work, along with other life event. However, I have continued to try and improve on at least the editing front and believe I have gotten sort of the "look" I've been searching for in my edits. Gonna start with a new one from February of 2023. I had set up my new at the time Flashpoint XPLOR 600 on the deck and a soft box to pop a bit of light into the bluebirds hitting our feeder.

Editing some older images I've never messed with. This is from November 2024 of a hawk hanging out in the early morning sunlight at work in Suffolk. They usually take off when I pull up, but this one was apparently comfortable and just hung out and watched me.

Me and Stormy playing in the floor this afternoon. I changed, or screwed up shooting banks in my camera this weekend, and had to redo them. I set up a few different things and thought it would be a good chance to give them a test run. He was yelling at me to come get his paper ball from behind the cabinet...where he pushed it.

I really need to practice and use this lens more. The depth of field is so shallow even slightly stopped down. The focus falls off quickly from his eyes to just the sides of his head.

Summer snowflake or snowdrop from my mother-in-laws backyard. Been trying to get some images of them recently but the wind has just been to crazy lately for a good closeup focus stack, but tonight work out. I could do better I think, and I have many more to go through. This is a 51 image focus stack in Helicon Focus to get the sharp focus across the subject. Portsmouth Va

Decided to get out in the backyard this cold afternoon and do a little "flower" photography. Set up the tripod and did a 30 image focus stack to give helicon focus stacking software a try finally. This is a small, no bigger than the size of a nickel or so flower known as a spring star. A little macro, a little focus stacking and some chilly air!

So, I went out with friend and fellow photographer William Coyle to Lesner Bridge last night in Virginia Beach. He had me test fly his drone for the first time yesterday, which was pretty awesome. Below are some of the images with the drone of the beach and Lesner Bridge as well as some more image I shot with my gear later in the evening.

New sunspot 4366 top front and center this afternoon. It has grown in just about 2 days to be one of the largest and most active of this solar cycle. Yesterday launching 3 X flares with several M class flares close to X levels. This thing is very large and popping off like crazy so it is something we need to keep a close eye on. This should continue to be active in the coming days with more X class flares possible. Waiting to see if we get any auroras later this week from the flares yesterday.
