The Bribois family brought so many laughs to their session!

Getting teen boys in front of a camera can sometimes be a bit of a challenge, but one of my favorite things is watching everyone warm up as we go. What starts out feeling a little awkward for the boys often turns into joking around, genuine laughs, and actually having fun together.

You don't have to show up knowing how to pose or feeling totally comfortable in front of the camera. That's what I'm here for! We'll take it one step at a time, and before you know it, you'll be having a good time, too!

The weather really gave us a run for our money on this one. 😂

The rain stopped literally minutes before we started, and the sun spent the whole session trying to hide from us… but it couldn’t hide forever!

We absolutely rocked Teagan’s session. We started with some skate shots since she’s big into roller derby, then headed into the fields for some fun, played in the water, and ended with a few more skating shots with Dad joining in.

She was worried we wouldn’t be able to capture the vision she had for her session because of the weather, but I think we absolutely nailed it 🤍

Sometimes you just have to roll with whatever the weather throws at you, and honestly, I think it made this session even more fun.

Fall photos, inspo vs reality:

Pinterest - 🍂✨ Everyone laughing, perfect golden light, perfectly coordinated outfits.

Reality - Someone is hungry, someone has to potty, someone doesn't want to wear their shoes, and Mom is bribing with chocolate. 😂

And somehow, we still get the photos! Honestly, this is real life, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Codie is another local photographer I met a few years ago when we did a little photo swap. I took photos of her family, she took photos of mine, and it worked so well that we decided to do it again!

I am so thankful to Codie for being willing to do this. As photographers, we spend so much time behind the camera capturing everyone else. Getting to put the camera down and let someone else use their creativity to capture our families is such a gift.

In these photos, she gets to just be a wife and mom, not the professional behind the camera. She gets to be present with her family without thinking about the lighting, the angles, the posing, or whether she got the shot. And in return, I got to do the same in our photos.

I hope we can keep doing this for years to come. This is what community is all about. Other photographers are not competition. There is room for all of us, and I am so grateful for the photographer friends who remind me of that 🤍

Year two with the Doi family!

One of my favorite parts of getting to photograph families again is knowing a little more about what makes them them. I remembered from last year just how much these guys love to play during their sessions, so of course, we did plenty of that again!

We danced, made funny faces, explored, and let the kids just be kids. And little miss even took over as director for a few shots, coming up with some ideas of her own. I think she may have a future in this! 😉

Thank you for another fun session, Doi family! I love getting to watch your family grow and capture these little pieces of your life along the way. I hope these are photos you’ll treasure for years to come.

Fall in the Japanese Garden… could you ask for anything better? 🍂

This sweet family was such a joy to photograph. The kiddos did fantastic, although I may have been competing with a little chocolate bribery behind the scenes 😂

And the results? Stunning. The kind of images I hope they’ll look back on years from now and remember this exact season of their family.

That’s my favorite thing about family sessions. Capturing the little personalities, the connection, the chaos, and the love that makes your family yours.

Miss Re*****on Rose absolutely rocked her newborn session 🤍

Newborn sessions are all about patience, and this little girl definitely made me work for it! A little extra love, some snuggles, and a good swaddle eventually had her completely snoozing, and we were able to capture some beautiful images of this sweet season.

And those big sisters? Re*****on, you are one lucky little girl!

These are the moments that make newborn sessions so special. The tiny details, the sleepy snuggles, and all the love surrounding a brand-new baby.

Senior sessions are so special. Most of the time, they’re not exactly something they want to do😂 But with a little patience, some good music, and a vision for the session, we can turn it into something they actually enjoy.

Taliah absolutely nailed her senior session. We went with her vision, let her personality shine through, and ended up with the most stunning images.

These are the kind of photos I know she’ll look back on and cherish for years to come. You're BEAUTIFUL Taliah, keep shining 🤍

Sometimes, clients become something more.

I’ve had the honor of photographing these two for years. I was there for their first photos together, their first blended family session, their couples photos, and their engagement. And now, we’ve come full circle with their wedding day.

Getting to document a family as it grows and changes is one of the most meaningful parts of being a photographer. These are the moments that remind me why I do what I do.

They started as clients, but somewhere along the way, they became like family. I’m so grateful I’ve gotten to be there for so many of their milestones, and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for them.
