I've been photographing my granddaughter's softball games. I don't have a ton of sports photography experience, and let me tell you...that's a tough gig. It was hard enough to follow the ball with 7 year olds hitting it, I can't imagine trying to track a ball that's flying at 110 MPH!

Note, the only child's face you can see if my grand-daughter...for obvious reasons. ;)

When people tell me, "I want to get into photography. What camera should I get?"

You should pull out your phone.

Our phone-cameras are quite good at auto-exposing. But sometimes you want the shadows. Look for the PRO mode, and start changing the settings. Other than focus and color, you're basically changing how much light comes in for the image. Some will be grainy. Some will be clearer. Just play, and see what you like.

The Angela Perley and The Vindys show at the A&R Music Bar was an absolute killer. Third time seeing them perform together. The crowd was hoppin'! And I got to meet the esteemed Tom Perley. Absolute gem of a guy.
