A shoutout to Richard Dell while Phoenix Rising CBUS is on the hunt for a new bassist!

Rich has been one of my firsts with band photography. I've come to get to know his lovely wife, with whom I have shared many photos during the action, and she's provided me with a spot to sit and to store my gear while trekking around nabbing pics. I've seen Rich, who is a trained jazz musician, expand to keyboard, and is always professional and pleasant to work with. I've shot him in the band as they've switched singers and lead guitar...and now it is his turn to move on to something different, where hopefully I'll get to photograph once, again.

So...KUDOS to Rich, and if you're a groovy bassist looking for a gig in central Ohio, reach out to Phoenix Rising!

Today I went down to Space Bar to take some shots of Carnage of the Witch, then we went down to the GATES OF HELL which was really cool and not nearly as murdery as I thought it might be.

My favorite part, however, was the bluegill. He'd crossed over from the "creek" to the runoff which is just a trickle. I initially figured he was dead, but nope...sitting there gasping for water.

So, I took him over to the creek and set him down and watched him swim off.

I don't know why I like it, but for some reason I enjoy drummer shots where I just happen to catch the stick in front of the face.
