✨ Why does my turnaround time average around 3 weeks?
I know it can be tempting to compare turnaround times, especially when you hear, “My other photographer had our photos back in a few days!” And while every photographer has a different process, I wanted to share a little bit about what happens behind the scenes after your session with me. 🤍
When I get home, my job is far from finished.
Depending on the session, I may come home sometimes well over 1,000 images (chronic overshooter.) I personally go through every single one, culling out duplicates, missed focus, blinking eyes, awkward expressions, test shots, etc., until I’m left with the very best images from your session.
Then the editing begins.
Every image you receive is hand edited individually. I’m not applying a preset to the entire gallery and calling it finished. I adjust lighting, color, skin tones, cropping, and overall tones image by image. I remove distracting objects in the background when needed and pay attention to all of those little details that can completely change the final photograph.
And I’m picky. 😂
There have been plenty of times when I’ve finished an entire gallery, looked through it again the next day, decided I wasn’t completely happy with it, and re-edited the whole thing.
Could I rush through galleries and deliver them faster? Absolutely. But that’s not the experience or quality I want to provide.
You trusted me to document something important to you and I want your final gallery to reflect the time and care it deserves.
So when I say my average turnaround time is around 3 weeks, it doesn’t mean your photos are sitting untouched for three weeks. It means I’m working through my editing queue while giving each gallery the same attention and care I would want someone to give my own.
Thank you to every client who trusts my process and patiently waits for their gallery. I promise, I’m just as excited to deliver it as you are to receive it!
