of The Scioto Ribber in Portsmouth, Ohio and the surrounding scenery. If you’ve not eat a steak here, you’re not doing life right. Portsmouth is the first city you drive through once you cross the U.S. Grant Bridge on U.S. 23 north from KY. Portsmouth is known for its flood wall murals that span over 2200 feet along the Ohio River, but, did you know it was also home of the Portsmouth Spartans NFL team back in the early 1930s? Yes Portsmouth Ohio had an NFL team from 1930 to 1934 then relocated to Detroit Michigan to become the Detroit Lions. I honestly did not know this until I started doing research on the city. The football stadium you see is Trojan Coliseum which is home to the Portsmouth Trojans and my 39th featured high school football stadium.

Somebody told me if I was going to snap pictures of high schools, Scott County High School in Georgetown, Ky was a stop I needed to make. Not only is it nice but it’s massive and comes with some beautiful Central Ky sunsets. Also met Freeman Kelly Dronography for the first time in person and had a great conversation with him. If you don’t follow him, you should. Scott County High School is something to look at.

This is the New Hope Estates disaster recovery housing on Cliff Road in Prestonsburg in the Big Sandy Area Development District. Back in July of 2023 Governor Andy Beshear came here and presented the county with a 2 million dollar check and later another 8 million to build 34 homes across two sites. It’s been 4 years since the flooding and 3 years since I took the first picture of the site, documenting it as its moved forward. I figured it was time to make a post and show its progression, from the air. The project moves forward everyday and still has a long way to go, but it’s good to see families getting into these homes and getting their lives straightened out. God Bless you people! Descriptions will be under the pictures.

Prestonsburg High School Class of 1964 class reunion still shots. Thanks to all of you for getting me to do the dj music and take the pictures. Might be a package deal I can offer in the future for small events. We had a good time it was a lot of fun, when you got Munroe in the room you’re gonna laugh for sure and we did.

Who remembers Munroe from the Ky Opry? I was the DJ and the photographer at the Prestonsburg High School Class of 1964 reunion held at Archer Park earlier and when I found out he was going to get up and sing a song, I knew to mic him up and shoot the video. Freddie Goble is his name and for 30 years he played the role of "Munroe" for the Ky Opry at the Mountain Arts Center. This guy is a legend and one of the greatest human beings in Eastern Ky. This right here, plus seeing my Dad, made all I put into working this reunion worth it. He may be a bit rusty, but I don't care I'm so glad I captured this one!!!
