There are weddings that happen in beautiful places, and there are weddings that add another layer of meaning to a beautiful place that’s already deeply loved.
C&D celebrated at a family property already filled with a lifetime of memories, and by the end of the night, it held perhaps the most special one yet.
She got ready in her grandfather’s study. Her grandmother’s art lined the walls, with one of her paintings transformed into an eight-foot seating chart that welcomed every guest. Every single moment and detail was thoughtful, and honored the people who brought them where they are today. As the guests moved into the tent from cocktail hour, a tent-shaking, glass-shatteirng storm hit - and everyone ran inside the house for shelter. As quickly as the storm hit, it passed, and we’ve never seen more vivid rainbows in our lives. What a metaphor for marriage and life if there ever was one - weathering unexpected storms surrounded by a community that loves you.
The photos that mean the most in twenty years won’t be the ones we expected to take that morning, and that’s exactly what makes them so perfect. It’s an immense privilege to be trusted to document celebrations like this. A truly special one.
Special thanks for my team, Lindsey and Alli for their help on this day!
