The natural light in this space wasn’t quite where I needed it, so I set up a 600W strobe at full power with a 51” umbrella and diffusion cloth positioned outside the window on a Manfrotto Imagine More master air light stand.

The goal was to create a soft, directional light source that felt natural while giving the wood, furniture, and textures more depth and separation.

Restoring, printing and framing this old gem for Father’s Day ❤️

Those close to me know I’ve poured everything into caring for my dad the last few years after my sister lost her battle with breast cancer. It’s been a roller coaster start for him this year with a long hospital stay and drastic decline in cognitive functions. He’s made some progress recently with in home physical therapy, still cracking jokes occasionally and a huge appetite lately so that’s been great to see. This Father’s Day coming up will be a special one for sure and I hope he keeps moving in the right direction.

I’m forever grateful for every photo shoot and to everyone who’s supported this little business over the years. I can’t believe I’m entering my ninth year in just a few days. Having the luxury of making my own schedule and working from home most of the time has really been the key to caring for my dad 🙏

A rare occurrence to see someone in front of my camera but you might see a few more of these in the future. I picked up a new 70-200 F2.8 last week, mostly for personal work and when I’m on the golf course but it will be a great addition for portraits and detail shots every now and then.
