Anchored by a circular planter and framed by a luminous oculus, this lobby becomes an exercise in spatial symmetry and restraint.

Designed by , the composition relies on axial alignment, controlled sightlines, and a disciplined material palette. Large-format stone tile establishes a continuous datum across floor and wall, while the integrated ceiling light acts as both architectural feature and ambient lighting strategy.

The central planting introduces biophilic design without disrupting the geometry. A monolithic steel planter base grounds the volume, reinforcing the interplay between softness and structure.

A staircase treated as an object, not a utility.

In this Upper East Side Manhattan townhouse, circulation becomes architecture. Planes intersect with museum-level restraint, where proportion, material palette, and controlled natural light do the heavy lifting. The monolithic stair volume reads as a sculptural intervention within the interior architecture, defined by clean sightlines, crisp detailing, and a deliberate interplay of shadow and surface.

The plaster finish and wood treads create quiet material contrast, while the geometry reinforces axial alignment and spatial hierarchy. Negative space is preserved. Edges remain disciplined. The result feels closer to gallery design than conventional residential construction.

A study in massing and asymmetry in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This contemporary townhouse façade reads as a composition of shifted volumes rather than a single elevation. The sloped roofline and stepped upper story introduce movement within a tight urban infill lot, while horizontal lap siding establishes a continuous datum that reinforces the geometry.

Fenestration is strategically placed to control sightlines and preserve privacy. Rather than aligning for exterior symmetry, the window layout responds to interior program and neighboring conditions, carefully avoiding direct views into adjacent homes. From within, the result is a heightened sense of seclusion despite the dense residential context.

At twilight, the warm interior glow contrasts against the cool-toned cladding, emphasizing depth, sectional layering, and façade articulation.

The purest essence of my vision as a photographer can be seen in this single set of images from a trip to Providence. It’s worth noting that I was just tagging along with my wife - no work, no projects, no plan, just me free to roam and make images while she was tied up at a conference… and I think there’s something special to that freedom that brings out the artist within.

I edit images like this a lot and sometimes I worry it’s too much, or a little disingenuous… but it is an awesome effect, and if it’s good enough for one of my favorite firms, it’s good enough for me. I’m sticking with it.

Just realized I’ve shot over 100 apartments for .homes, and now that they’ve been acquired by , the quality of furnishing and design is going up a notch, which is exciting for future shoots.

Also, I found an apartment I shot entirely with an iPhone.
