This precious baby girl was wide awake for her newborn session and wanted to see everything going on! It’s common to imagine newborn photos with a sleeping baby, but as you can see, the sweetest photos can still be made if they aren’t.🤍

Whether your baby is awake, sleeping, fussy, snuggly, or anything in between, we work around it and give them exactly what they need through it all.

These photos don’t show you all the snuggling, rocking, re-swaddling, and feeding she needed, but that’s the point. Your newborn session may not go exactly as you imagined, but with my patience, guidance, and care, it will still be beautiful—and fully yours. 🤍

This.

This is the beginning of your legacy.

Your greatest work of art.

The days ahead will be full of firsts, new routines, sleepless nights, laughter, love…

And small moments that make it all worthwhile.

These aren’t just newborn photos. They’re a way to hold onto the moments that make your life meaningful. To remember the beginning of the people who matter most to you—the part where your whole life changed for the better.

It’s why I believe every newborn photography session is about more than photos. It’s about putting care into capturing a season that matters, but passes too quickly—about preserving the start of your family’s story before it becomes just a memory.

And about creating artwork that doesn’t just remind you of it—but lets you relive it every time you walk by it in your home.

If preserving your newborn’s first days in artwork that becomes part of your family’s legacy matters to you, this is where it begins. ✨

“What if my newborn won’t sleep for newborn photos?”

Well, then we just might get images like this. 🤍

These kind of images are never produced by forcing a moment to happen. So many client favorites came from candid, in-between moments—and often even chaotic ones!

They just need some patience and attention to capture them as they happen naturally… and I’m always prepared for that.

From outfit styling and access to the client wardrobe to careful planning and preparation for your dream newborn photos, you are completely taken care of in your newborn portrait experience with Christina Lynn Portraits in Utah. 🤍

The moms I work with for newborn portraits usually aren’t worried about trendy photos or booking the perfect studio.

They’re worried about missing this season that passes too quickly.

They’re worried about not feeling themselves enough to be in the moment.

They’re worried they’ll forget what their tiny baby looks like before they grow.

And they’re worried about feeling too overwhelmed to figure out how to make this season last.

I help these moms hold onto their babies and this precious moment in time in a way that feels real, beautiful, and truly effortless.

Because moms already do too much. And they deserve to be seen in their own story without having to make it all happen themselves.

If this sounds like you...
I made this experience exactly for you. 🤍

This isn’t what it looks like.

It looks like a mother holding her newborn baby who knows exactly what she’s doing.

But moments before these were taken she told me, “I’m sorry. I’m not very good at posing.”

Almost every mother says that to me. Because when you’re sleep deprived, healing, adjusting to life with a brand-new baby, and just flat out not feeling beautiful, the last thing you want is the pressure of performing for a camera.

So I told her something I tell all my clients: You don’t need to know what to do. You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to worry about looking perfect.

You only need to be present. To hold your baby. The way you already do. The way you’ll miss one day. The way that comes naturally to you.

These newborn scrunches, sleepy snuggles, and the way they fit perfectly in your arms won’t stay this way for long.

And you’re going to want to remember every part of it.

So my role isn’t to capture perfect poses.

It’s to guide you. To create space. Space for you to slow down. Space for you to breathe. Space for you to simply be with your baby while I preserve what this season actually felt like.

Because one day, your baby will be too big to hold in your hands like this.

But you’ll always want to remember what it felt like when they weren’t.

And to actually feel beautiful in it.

"I'll book newborn photos after the baby gets here."

It sounds like a good plan.

But those first few weeks with baby are often a blur of feedings, recovery, learning new routines, and trying to soak in every tiny detail before it changes.

The last thing you'll want to do is spend those precious early days searching for a newborn photographer and hoping they still have room on their calendar.

So when is the best time to book newborn photos?

Usually during your second trimester, or even just as soon as you know you want them!

That gives you time to plan ahead, have your session reserved, and cross one more thing off your list before your little one arrives.

But how do you book in advance when you don't know exactly when baby will be born?

When you reserve your newborn session with me, I save space around your due date and guide you through every step beforehand, so everything is ready by the time your baby arrives.

My goal is simple: to make this process feel easy, calm, and completely taken care of so you can focus on loving your baby and being fully present in those fleeting first days.

Because one day you'll look at those tiny fingers, newborn scrunches, and milk-drunk smiles and wonder how they ever fit in your arms.

And you'll have photographs that remind you they once did.

If you're expecting an August, September, or October baby, now is the perfect time to start planning with me. 🤍

I’ve never met a mother who wished she had fewer reminders of those first days with baby.

Only mothers who wish they had more.

More details. More memories to revisit. More ways to bring back the feelings of a season that disappeared far too quickly.

That’s the gift of timeless newborn photography—the gift of being able to relive the best moments of your life again and again and again. 🎀

One of the most common questions I get as a Utah newborn photographer from expecting moms is “When should I book my newborn photos?”

There is no one right answer, but during or end of your second trimester is perfect, or even as soon as you know you want them.

Because you only get this opportunity once.

During your second trimester you are typically getting your energy back, not feeling so sick, and are already in a nesting and preparing phase. You won’t want to add extra tasks and stress to the aching body, racing thoughts, and sleepless nights of the last weeks leading up to baby’s arrival!

That’s why planning ahead for newborn portraits is so important—to ensure you don’t miss the teeny, sleepy, squishy newborn portraits you are dreaming of, but also to save your sanity and energy for what really matters.

But you don’t need to know exactly when your baby will arrive or worry if they come early or late.

When you reserve your session, I save space around your due date and we handle all the planning ahead of time so you don’t have to think about it—just about your precious new little one.

My biggest goal is to make this one less thing on your mental load so you can actually, really, truly be present in this season and enjoy every moment before it’s gone.

Not scrambling to find a photographer who can fit you in.
Not wondering what to wear or where to go.
Not trying to coordinate details while recovering and adjusting to life with a newborn.

Just having the peace of knowing everything is already taken care of.

As a full-service newborn photographer in Utah, I guide you through every step—from planning your session to providing everything you’ll need—so when the day arrives, you can simply show up, love on your baby, and be fully present in the memories we’re preserving together.

If you’re expecting a July or August baby, now is the perfect time to reserve your session. Let’s get it on the calendar so you can spend the rest of your pregnancy looking forward to these moments instead of worrying about losing them. 🤍

But really though... 🥰

I can’t wait to preserve the feeling of this incredible season for you—the sleepy snuggles, the tiny newborn scrunch, the overwhelming love that fills your days.

Because these moments are gone in the blink of an eye, but your photographs allow you to relive them every day and hold onto them forever.

And that is one of my very favorite things to create. 🤍
