Last night I had the pleasure of filming the Maui Benefit Concert here in Utah! As you probably know, the Maui fires have taken many lives, homes, and businesses on the island. All the proceeds from this benefit concert will be helping rebuild Maui through the Lāhui Foundation.

It was a night filled with music, reverence, and love and donations for the people of Maui, Hawaii specifically in Lahaina. Somehow I’m related to this model??? When she says I want to take editorial, filmy, black and white senior photos- you run with it!! I had such a fun time working with Karly. Every idea one of us had was exactly what the other one was thinking! It’s great to be able to work with people who inspire you and this shoot was a good reminder of why I love my job! Thank you Karly! Now everyone admire her!!! 🖤🤍

Royce and I got to model today for .handmade 🌸 and while editing and looking through these photos, it made me think of a lot of different things.

#1. It’s so hard to be a mom + an entrepreneur. There is no guide book on how to continue to run your business while taking care of your son 24/7. These pictures look like maybe I’ve got it all down, but it’s a struggle every single day and everything I do has to be planned down to the minute while at the same time allowing for things to go wrong or Royce needing more attention, etc. It’s the most intense balancing act of my life!

#2. I often get down on myself for not being able to “do it all” and suffer from thoughts of failing as a mother, failing as a business owner, failing as a wife because my attention has been so divided. Blame it on postpartum or whatever it may be, but I am trying to be proud of myself for the small accomplishments I can get done each day. Being a mom is no joke. Shoutout to the mom’s who are such great examples to me like my own, and happy early Mother’s Day 💖
