Most people don't imagine senior portraits looking like this.
They picture standing in a field, leaning against a fence, and smiling at the camera.

But great portraits start long before I ever press the shutter.
We talk about clothing, style, personality, and what makes each senior unique. Every detail is chosen with intention.

The goal isn't just to document what they look like. It's to create artwork that feels like them.

Confident.
Authentic.
Memorable.

Because senior year only happens once, and the portraits should feel just as significant as the milestone itself.

These images are proof that senior portraits can be so much more than a yearbook photo.

Colorado really shows off this time of year.

The trees are bursting with color, the grass is lush, and for a few short weeks everything feels fresh and alive. It's one of my favorite seasons for family portraits because the landscape becomes part of the story.

And this family absolutely made the most of it.

Between the beautiful green backdrop, a mountain view that never disappoints, and the connection they share, these are the kinds of images that deserve more than a spot on a phone. They deserve a place on the wall where they're seen every day.

This is why I believe photos belong on walls.

A year from now, this little guy will be running.
Fifteen years from now, he'll be borrowing the car.
Before long, Dad will be wondering where the time went.

But this moment?

This one gets to stay.

Every once in a while, you get the chance to photograph someone who has had a real impact on your journey.

This week, I got to create headshots for a mentor who has taught me so much over the years. Someone whose work I respect, whose advice I've leaned on, and who has helped shape the photographer I am today.

No pressure, right?

Thankfully, we absolutely nailed it.

There's something pretty special about being trusted to create images for someone who has spent years helping you grow. Grateful for the opportunity and excited about the results.

Right now, they're all chubby cheeks and baby toys.

Next thing you know, they're running through the house, rolling their eyes at you, and asking for the car keys.

Time has a way of speeding up.

Print the photographs. Put them in your house. Enjoy them every single day.

One minute he's making you laugh.

The next, he looks like he's ready to take on the world.

That's senior year.

Somehow they're still your kid... and somehow they're not.

I'm glad we captured both.

One of my favorite parts of this process is seeing images become something you can actually hold.

This beautiful piece just arrived for a client, and it’s a reminder that photographs were never meant to live only on a phone or computer. They deserve to be seen, enjoyed, and passed down.

I can't wait for this family to have these in their homw and enjoy them every day.

Do you display family pictures in your home?

Twin one-year-olds and an eight-year-old big sister means there’s never really a quiet moment.

It’s busy. It’s chaotic. It’s snack requests, giggles, chasing toddlers, and trying to soak it all in before everyone grows a little more tomorrow.

The beautiful thing is that now Mom has these images to hold onto this chapter exactly as it is right now. Not perfect. Not posed life. Real life. The little smiles, the sister cuddles, the tiny faces that are already changing too fast.

These are the moments worth remembering.
