One of my favorite things about Mount Rainier is that every visit feels different.

This morning had wildflowers, drifting clouds, and just enough breaks in the weather to reveal the mountain. I came home with more than one favorite image, so I wanted to share a few different views from the same hike.

Above the Clouds

A brief opening in the weather revealed layers of forested ridges rising through the clouds near Mount Rainier. The entire scene was constantly changing as sunlight moved across the mist—and within minutes, the mountains disappeared again.

One thing about getting to mount Rainier National Park early is sometimes your view is of clouds engulfing the mountain. When this happens, just take in all the beautiful small scenery. This is some of my favorites from yesterday. ❤️
Is Mount Rainier National Park the most beautiful place in Washington State? After spending the day hiking and photographing its glaciers, wild landscapes, and incredible mountain scenery, it’s easy to see why it’s considered one of the best places to visit in Washington.
