Cave-in-Rock State Park offers some really nice views of the Ohio River and Kentucky! You can even drive your car onto a ferry and go into Kentucky!

🌇🌇Lavender & Driftwood🌇🌇

This title may sound more like a scented deodorant but it just seems to fit this image. The colors of the sky just seemed to get absorbed by the water as the weathered driftwood sits high and dry on the jagged river rock.

Views in the midwest don't get much better than this, that's for sure!

Heads up tonight if you’ve got a clear view to the north! The possibility for auroras in our area is elevated. The arrival time of the CMEs from the sun are hard to pinpoint but I will try to provide updates as evening approaches! If you’re a night owl this may work out in your favor.

🌇🌇Memorial Sunset🌇🌇

Look at that perfect pastel sunset last night over the Memorial Bridge. Using a 25 second shutter I captured long light trails from the headlights of cars crossing into Illinois.

Hoping to be able to catch Jupiter and Venus on the 9th as they will be very close to each other in the western sky. As long as the sky stays clear I have a really cool image planned!

✨✨✨The Nocturnal Rainbow✨✨✨

We have been fortunate the last couple years to have some very impressive auroral displays during the suns peak solar cycle. Now that the peak period is beginning to decline those chances are becoming few and far between.

This image is not perfect, the focus is off just slightly but it's still one of my favorite compositions. The dancing aurora covering the entire sky was fascinating to watch. You almost got lost in time as the substorms producing these vibrant displays kept coming!

🌧️💨👀Beautiful Storm👀💨🌧️

A perfect shelf cloud moving south over the Bayview Bridge a couple years ago. I don't get to shoot much during the afternoon but I used my lunch break to head over to my spot and capture this insane image.

Besides photographing lightning, shelf clouds are another one of my favorite things to catch when I can. Just to watch them gracefully chug their way across the sky is satisfying. I really like the contrast of these clouds. It's almost a warning to take cover or secure things before they end up a couple blocks away!

This is a direction I don't normally position my camera in but the best strikes were moving south. Caught the perfect bolt right behind the seasoned Memorial Bridge!

I took my camera off the tripod for this shot and placed it on the ground to get this angle. Kinda makes me feel like I'm in the movie "Honey I Shrunk the Kids."
