Congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
This weekend we celebrated Nick and Megan as they said “I do” to a lifetime of love and happiness together in front of all their family and friends at the breathtaking St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain, MI!
Our day started with all the girls nestled downstairs of the church laughing and chatting away. The bride’s two sisters helped Megan get into her stunning wedding gown while their mom, Jodi, waited outside to see her little girl. She buttoned her up while her sisters watched with teary eyes. Next up – the most emotional moment of the morning when the father of the bride, Kevin, saw his little girl for the first time that day. On the other side of the church, the groom arrived and shared sweet moments with his mom, Lisa, putting on his boutonnière and his dad, Joe, checking his bowtie with his siblings by his side.
The time finally came when family and friends traveled near and far to the immaculate St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church downtown Iron Mountain to watch Nick and Megan exchange their vows before God. The bride walked towards her groom escorted by her dad while holding onto a gorgeous bouquet of white roses adorned with baby's breath. Fr Janusz’s homily emphasized how the goal of marriage is to get each other to heaven, how small gestures can make a big impact on your day to day lives and building a life with God in the center of your marriage will strengthen your love more each day. There truly is something so special about professing both your faith and love in front of God in the way that they did on their beautiful wedding day. You could see and hear the excitement of the crowd when they were able to share their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. surrounded by all their loved ones!
The celebration continued through family photos where the adorable ring bearer and flower girl got to have their special moment with the wedding party before everyone headed off onto the party bus to Vagabond Park in Spread Eagle where the Badwater Waterski show takes place. Nick and Megan share a love of waterskiing together! The wedding party took in the pretty views, shared laughs and drinks and popped some confetti. The bride and groom’s sweet pup, Coneli, made a pit stop during cocktail hour in the cutest flower collar to see them!
In the evening, all their loved ones were in awe as they walked into a beautifully decorated Pine Grove Country Club. They were welcomed in the halls of the country club with photos of the sweet couple and all the love stories that came before them. It was such a beautiful evening that both the indoor and outdoor space was filled with so much joy from all the guests mingling. After cocktail hour, the full wedding party was introduced along the grand entrance of the bride & groom to a room filled with napkins flying in the air and chants of Go Pack Go in honor of Nick’s cheesehead!
The father of the bride kicked off speeches with an emotional tribute to both Megan and Nick while calling out the apparent betting that was happening throughout the day too. Papa Joe, the bride’s grandfather, said a beautiful prayer before the meal started. Throughout dinner, more speeches followed by duo maid of honors, Nikki and Caiti, reminiscing on all the amazing memories that led them to this moment today and how perfectly Nick fits into their family. The best man, Danny, recalled the moment he knew Megan was the one when he realized the bride and groom’s mutual love for Miller Lite. A gift was given to them at the table with brand new Packer jerseys too! After a delicious meal served by Pine Grove and desserts, the dance floor started with Nick and Megan’s first dance as Mr. and Mrs. followed by heartfelt dances between father/daughter and mother/son. From there, the night was filled with a full dance floor, mingling and tons of laughter between family and friends!!
