ACROSS THE WORLD

Anytime two people fall in love, it is two worlds become one - all our past selves, connecting with another person to create something new and beautiful.

But when those two people find each other on a beach in Vietnam, thousands of miles from their original homes, it’s all the more amazing.

Two hearts, drawn together across an ocean, across the world, and now running into their future together, dancing and smiling and laughing and loving.

TIME TRAVEL

I think hugs are the closest thing we have to time travel.

When I hug my kids, I’m hugging them now in that moment. I’m hugging the newborns they once were, I’m hugging the teenagers and adults they are yet to be - even when maybe they won’t want to hug me all the time.

I’m hugging myself and my wife (our children are half each of us, after all). I’m hugging my parents and my grandparents, their DNA and characteristics present in these children.

So when I saw Eric hugging his child Carter on their elopement day, I knew that even though the moment itself lasted only a few seconds…in many ways it reached backwards and forwards through time.

B A D A S S E R Y

The dictionary defines “badassery” as “behavior, characteristics, or actions regarded as formidably impressive”.

It’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of Jeanne & TJ. These badasses took a boat to get married on a tiny island off the coast of the New Hampshire / Maine border, and looked glam as Hell doing it.

Their lovely wedding at The Stockroom at 230 in downtown Raleigh set the tone for what promises to be a wonderful 5th wedding season for me, filled with many more wonderful memories.
