Let's get back to warm spring weather here in Raleigh again! Wasn't it a shock seeing frost this morning after it was 87 just two days ago??

I'm dreaming of warm Raleigh weddings like Nicole and Bryan's at Haywood Hall! The hydrangeas at the NC State Capitol were gorgeous for their portraits, and pops of citrus were such a cute element to their Almalfi Coast theme! 🍊 (Did you notice the oranges on their pjs?)

It doesn't need to be 87, but I'll take some more warmth again! What about you?

They’re married!! 💍🥂 Joanne and Trinath’s wedding on Saturday was vibrant and fun, beginning with a Catholic Indian wedding ceremony and ending with an awesome reception at Chandelier full of color, dancing, friends and family! People flew in from all over the world to celebrate Joanne and Trinath, and wow what a special day it was!

Joanne, all your vision and care paid off! The day was absolutely perfect! ❤️

I am guilty of positing too many portraits, not enough genuine moments. I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again.

Gosh I love bride and groom portraits. They’re some of my favorite moments to photograph, but they’re also the most “staged” moments of the day.

The reality is that wedding days are filled much more with these truly authentic moments:

That post-ceremony laugh of relief.

Practicing your first dance when no one is around.

Your mother crying as she watches her husband break down seeing over their grown-up baby girl.

A groomsmen giving an impromptu cheers during dinner.

All the genuine smiles you share when you forget the camera is there.

These are truly “authentic” moments of a wedding day, and I’m committing to sharing them more.

Happy engagement season! 💍🫶🏻 Giuseppe and Stephanie’s proposal at JC Raulston last week was so sweet!

Even though she knew a proposal was coming, Giuseppe surprised her by getting on one knee the day before Thanksgiving!

We had fun going around the gardens taking a few more photos before heading out to celebrate with friends and family over the holiday.

Congratulations to Giuseppe and Stephanie! I am so excited for you two! 🥰

Makayla + Jon 🫶🏻 Their engagement session at JC Raulston on Sunday was so sweet! While in town for an NC State game, they wanted to get their engagement photos done since NC State holds a special place in their heart!

Thankfully the weather was perfect and the leaves were still vibrant!

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since Alex G and Alex R’s wedding in Shenandoah National Park!

The day before their wedding at a golf club, they honored their love of travel and national parks to say private vows on top of a mountain! Little did we know the weekend before Thanksgiving it would look like this! 😱

I can honestly say this is one of the coolest (and coldest lol) moments I’ve ever photographed!

It is also the moment I learned I should wear waterproof mascara to work. I will not be sharing that photo 😂

I’ve seen this while photographing a couple weddings now and it has worked great! All your guests all get a great photo and you get to have an unplugged ceremony. It also makes for a great laugh!
