You know your kids donā€™t have to be perfectly behaved for family photos, right?

And you donā€™t have to spend the entire session bribing them to smile or begging them to look at the camera?

You know youā€™re allowed to let them run, explore, play, and be their wonderfully wild little selves?

And that the giggles, snuggles, movement, and perfectly imperfect moments are usually where the magic happens?

Okay, good. Just checking. šŸ¤

When choosing your family photographer, make sure you find someone whose personality feels like a good fit, who genuinely enjoys working with young kids, and who knows how to gently guide your family without forcing stiff poses.

A little reminder that not every beautiful gallery ends up on social media. Sometimes the most meaningful photos are the ones you'll never see here. Because these images belong to my clients, not to my content calendar.

Whether they choose to share every photo, only a few, or none at all, their privacy will always come first. Being trusted with your biggest moments is something I never take lightly.

North Carolina summers definitely keep us on our toes... and Emma & Nick's engagement session was proof. ā˜€ļøšŸŒŠ

We squeezed their beach session into the perfect little break between storms, embraced the heat and humidity, and it could not have been more worth it.

Sometimes the weather isn't perfect, your hair gets a little windswept, and the air feels like soup, but those are often the sessions that end up feeling the most real. The laughter, the barefoot walks, the salty breeze, and the way these two couldn't stop smiling at each other made every second worth it.

I already know their wedding day is going to be just as joyful, and I can't wait to document it.

Once the dance floor opens and the party really gets going, don't be afraid to switch things up. Change into a fun reception dress, let your hair down, throw on a pair of sneakers, add a sparkly jacket, or surprise your guests with something that's completely you.
Not only does it make the night feel fresh, but it gives you the freedom to dance, celebrate, and soak in every moment without worrying about keeping everything perfectly in place.
Your wedding day doesn't have to look the same from start to finish. The best celebrations evolve right along with the energy of the day.
