— there was so much magic choosing to celebrate Sydney + Ben entering parenthood with a nontraditional newborn session at the lake. The fresh air was EVERYTHING and so is baby Carter! This session represents Sydney and Ben so well and while Sydney loved the idea of getting outside while postpartum, I didn’t realize I needed it too 🥰 There is something so sweet about experiencing the same season of life alongside my clients (turned friends)!!

I’m making this year the year that I bring to life all the silly, creative ideas I’ve had circling in my head for awhile now! I’m so excited to introduce these personality minis - an opportunity to drop the expectations and let these babes just be. These were taken at witching hour, no change of clothes, just these sweet babies as they are.

This is a moment to take these fleeting moments and make them seem a little less fleeting, if only for a day. If only for a photograph.

The world feels heavy - it’s nearly impossible to do anything in life right now without acknowledging that, but these innocent, brilliant, funny, and sweet babies keep me going and I’m hoping this will feel like a breath of fresh air for you to witness and have and preserve. So bring your snacks, your toys, your costumes - anything that we can use to bottle up this season of life with your little ones! this session was so unexpected and SO fun and I’m excited to share something a little different 🪩💕💃🏻 because they were hit with an unexpected induction, we had one night, and one night only, to make this session happen and the weather was so glum and grey I was forced to use my flash in the studio. I leaned into Claire’s fun style and some filmy vibes and I love love love what we created. Proof that sometimes you just have to roll with it!

we took a chance on the weather and let the kids, pups, and life lead the session — although sometimes even just calling it a session feels too formal for this type of morning where too much fun was had 🫶🏼 picking flowers, family walks, and spontaneous pond moments for Alfie that led to puppy baths and water fights — just a real life type of morning!
