In case you guys are wondering why we’ve taken a hiatus from wedding photography, it is because we started a family. It’s been a crazy and incredible roller coaster ride! Our lives are never the same, and for the better. It’s such an exciting time for our business, as we adjust our business to balance our professional and family life. With our new perspective, we feel such renewed and intense desire to touch people’s lives through the greatest talent that god has given us – capturing images.
Images can give us goosebumps, it can make us cry with joy, and it can also help us remember events in our lives, whether mundane or exciting. Overall, these images hold a lot of weight. This weight can be scary at times and I admit that before all my weddings and shoots, I can be a nervous wreck because I care so much about my clients and my work. As a complete perfectionist, I PERSONALLY know how much work is put into planning a wedding, an event, or even a child’s photoshoot. My upbringing has also made me value the importance of reputation and maintaining “face.” In other words, I care a lot about how others think about me and my work. This gives so much pressure to perform well, that sometimes I kind of forget that I can’t screw up because my gift of photography is a natural gift, one that I’ve honed since I was a teenager spending countless hours behind the lens and in front of a computer.
I’m at a time in my life where I have matured enough to admit my faults, but within these faults, are really the things that drive me to be the best I can be each and every day. In the end, my work can speak for itself. As 2017 is coming to a close, I hope to better myself through education, practice and a goal of getting out of my comfort zone. We also need to give back to our community, which has given so much to us, by doing more pro-bono work. We will also be working on engaging more with our community through social media. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
Here are a few images of that we took of our family!
