Happy to share this gorgeous gallery with Jinny and Brian today. Wedding days are often filled with hiccups. It's usually the team of professionals who are working hard behind the scenes to iron out all the details, but it was these two who were dealt a doozy in the hours prior . . . but they kept calm, focused on what was truly important, and moved forward, finding beauty in the imperfections as they celebrated their love with family and friends. I'm so excited for these guys!

I had one of those rocky starts today....You know, the kind where you stare at your screen for a solid 1-2 hours without accomplishing anything.

It's mad frustrating.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But...I decided to spend some time browsing through all the goodies in my E3 group and decided that I needed to take the Enneagram test. I'm a firm believer that identifying and understanding personal characteristics and behaviors is essential to growth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well....I'm a 4 - The individualist.....It's spot on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But one of the things that hit me as I was reading through my results was a note to avoid putting things off until "I'm in the right mood"....Because the only way I'll ever be in the right mood is when I'm actively being productive. I don't think truer words have ever been spoken about me. Procrastination is my greatest fault.....Once I start that path it turns into a long journey. On the flip side, once I push through and find a groove, I get energized and excited about what I'm accomplishing.

So....I pushed through today....and once I found my rhythm, I got so much done.

What started out as rocky is ending on a high.

Dreaming of all my favorite places now that we've got the official word that fully vaccinated people can resume to normal life.....I don't know that anything will be normal again after losing my dad to Covid, but I know he would want me to rediscover the world. Paris, anyone?

It's a gorgeous day. It makes me not want to work....so instead, I picked everything up and am currently enjoying the breeze from my front porch while I work. My amazing husband built me a daybed swing and let me tell you.....I can't get enough if this spot. But I do have to enjoy while I can.....In a couple of hours, my oldest daughter will be done with school and the youngest will be awake from her nap....Then they'll kick me out and lay claim  to my sanctuary.

I got a much needed break this past weekend. I had an engagement session in the OuterBanks early Saturday morning so I drove down on Friday evening with the intention of checking out and heading home directly after my shoot. Instead, my insanely wonderful hubby encouraged me to stay an extra night....Go the the beach, eat buckets of shrimp cocktail, and relax. I did all of these things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's so important for us to find some alone time...Recharge our batteries...Do some soul searching.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm so grateful that my husband is in my corner, supporting me and giving me the opportunity to have the time and space that I didn't even realize I needed.

And shout out to the . Everyone I interacted with was amazing! And the food was fabulous! I know where I'll be staying this summer when I come back to shoot my clients wedding.

It was cold....Windy and cold. So cold, I could barely feel my fingers. If you shoot film, you know exactly how hard it is to roll film when your fingers are frozen....But it didn't matter. Jenna and Ian were amazing. They braved the elements with a smile!

I can't wait to visit the again this summer for their wedding! The fam is even joining me for the weekend for a mini vacay....It's just one of the perks of the job!

I’m in the OuterBanks! It’s my first time here and I’m sups excited to shoot Jenna and Ian’s engagement session bright and early tomorrow morning! I should probably try to sleep....I’ve got a glorious sunrise to catch! Until then, I’ll dream of my favorite west coast beaches! Don’t worry SoCal, I’ll be back soon.
