Hey CAWDA friends and family, we'd like to present our newest Board Member Jessica Harlan! 🤠🎉

"My name is Jessica Harlan and I ride and train out of Pepper Creek Equine Center in Ramona with my mom, Cheryl Bell. I have been riding since I was 5 years old. I grew up on the hunter/jumper circuit and was forced into dressage lessons in 2009 by my mom who insisted I needed to learn how to ride properly. I of course fought her because "dressage was boring" I ended up loving it and have never looked back. I have my USDF Silver Medal, with scores towards my Gold. We were introduced to western dressage not too long ago in 2020 when we first started hosting schooling shows at our barn. In 2022 we had a client with a darling quarter horse wanting us to ride and show him. We thought why not try this western dressage thing with him? Little did we know we would fall in love! I ended up seriously showing a few client horses western dressage in 2023 and last minute pulled one of my own horses from the field, qualified him, and took him to the World Show. That year I ended up winning the Open Hack on Psam I Am and placed top 10 with two horses in the Open Basic. By this point we were hooked and had gotten the majority of our clients to hop on this train with us. 2024 and 2025 I was lucky enough to make the trip to Oklahoma again and bring home a world title each year at level 5 on my boy Generation. Generation ended up earning his WDAA Gold Medal after his World Show performance in 2025. I now also have my CAWDA Bronze and Gold Medals. Western dressage has become a staple in our barn, and we have come to love it so much. I look forward to many more years in this wonderful sport and am grateful for the opportunity to be on the CAWDA board where I can be more involved in the Western Dressage community."

All competitors from the Dressage at Pepper Creek 1* star should have received an email that their gallery is ready! The biggest changes this show are that a PIN is now required for download (The PIN is in the email). The other big change this show is that the Quarter Line Photography store is now open!! Prints of all sizes are available for purchase as well as wall art, and high-resolution, unwatermarked, digital downloads.

What an awesome day at Pepper Creek Equine Center's first rated show! Weather was perfect and the rides were exciting! Thanks everyone for coming out! Keep an eye out on this page, as well as my Instagram, for updates on the photos!

Had a great time shooting the Dressage portion of the San Diego Arabian Horse Association AVS and All Breeds Show at Poway Valley Riders Association yesterday! The photos are edited and up on the website for free media downloads! Can't wait to see everyone at the next show!!

The best part of every test isn't the score, it's the "good job" pat after the final salute. It's the "Thank you for doing so well" or "Thank you for trying your best". That moment represents months and years of training for a single 8-minute window in the ring. It is the relief of getting through it together, rain or shine. 🐴🌧🌞

Take photos AND edit them in the same day?! Unheard of 😆 So much fun capturing everyone's wet and dry rides today! After a long week of editing, I can finally say I have uploaded and published all the photos from the Dressage at Pepper Creek Equine Center from 3/22/26. Thank you again so much for your patience, I know how much everyone wants their photos from their rides 😁 Everyone should've received an email from me about their gallery. It was so much fun to capture all these moments, and I can't wait for the rest of the year!! 😁
