Over the last year, I've been paying close attention to the conversations I've had with photographers.

What I've discovered is that most don't need more poses.

They need a system.

A way to confidently move from one pose to the next, create more variety, reduce overshooting, and spend less time culling and editing afterward.

That's exactly why I've been working on something new.

Photographers! You don't need more poses.

You need a roadmap.

Over the last year, I've had conversations with photographers at every stage of business, from part-time photographers to seasoned professionals, and I've noticed the same challenges coming up again and again.

They love photography, but they often find themselves:

Freezing during sessions
Repeating the same poses ( in different locations)
Overshooting images "just in case"
Spending hours culling and editing afterward

And here's what I've realized...

The problem isn't a lack of posing ideas.

The problem is that most photographers don't have a repeatable system to confidently move from one pose to the next while creating natural variety along the way.

Honestly, with all the posing resources already available online, I never thought I'd create something like this.

But I can't stop thinking about it.

What if there was a roadmap that helped photographers (seasoned and beginners)

Nobody prepares a father for this moment.

There’s something incredibly powerful about a father-daughter first look. The emotion, the pride, the memories flooding back all at once… it becomes one of the most meaningful moments of the entire wedding day.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a Lunch & Learn hosted by the Black Hills Home Builders Association, and it was incredibly insightful. Heather, presenting on behalf of , shared valuable information about AI and the ways it is already shaping businesses and industries around us.

I’m especially thankful to be part of the Networking of the Black Hills Tuesday group, where Heather first mentioned the event. The interest was so overwhelming that the Lunch & Learn had to be moved to (Black Hills Federal Credit Union) to accommodate the crowd. Around 65 people showed up, all eager to grow, learn, and better understand the future of AI.

It’s inspiring to see so many businesses in the Black Hills investing in education, innovation, and connection. Thankful to have been part of it!

He planned the surprise.
A destination proposal.

Some sessions just stay with you long after the portraits are delivered.

I’ve known this family for over 25 years, back to the days when David's mom was my landlord with my first studio. To now photograph her son graduating feels incredibly full circle.

Watching David reach this milestone, earn scholarships, and head off to college this fall is such a perfect reminder that every journey looks different… and every victory deserves to be celebrated BIG. 🎓

His mom texted me afterward and said the portraits made her tear up, and honestly… that touched my heart. That is why I do this!

These Cap & Gown sessions are about so much more than portraits. They’re about honoring growth, resilience, family, memories, and the people who walked beside us through every season.
