📸 SATURDAY CAMERA FIND

This week’s camera find is a little different—you may have already spotted this one sitting in our front window!

Meet the Century Studio Camera No. 9A, a large-format studio camera from the early 1900s.

Cameras like this were made for professional studio photography, particularly portrait work. With its beautiful wooden construction, large bellows, and substantial size, it’s a pretty incredible reminder of just how different the process of taking a photograph once looked.

After we opened the shop, one of our friends gave us this old photograph that was originally taken right here in Red Bank, NJ. We thought it was especially fitting to display alongside the camera, since a photograph like this would have been made using a studio camera similar to our Century No. 9A.

And unlike our usual Saturday Camera Finds cameras, this one isn’t for sale. It’s part of our collection that’s been sitting in our window looking out onto the street for years.

📷 CAMERA SPOTLIGHT: PETRI FLEX 7

Here’s one for the vintage camera lovers. 👀
The Petri Flex 7 is a 35mm SLR from the 1960s, and it definitely has that classic camera look we love.

One of its most recognizable features is the built-in selenium light meter around the lens, which gives the front of the camera its distinctive look.
