Dear Friends,

I am deeply honored to share that on April 17, 2026, at the Maryland Professional Photographers Association Convention Dinner, I was awarded the Maryland Photographic Achievement Award for 2025. This prestigious award is presented annually to a photographer who exemplifies dedication to teaching, mentoring others, and engaging with the community through photography.

I want to sincerely thank the selection committee for this incredible recognition. Receiving this award fills me with great humility and gratitude.

Photography has always been more than just an art form to me—it is a calling. Since 2005, when God led me back into photography and missionary work, I have strived to see through His spiritual eyes and reflect that perspective in my work. My goal is to guide and support others in their journey to master this craft, just as I was once mentored.

I pray that my work continues to uplift the field of photography in a way that honors God’s vision.

I’ve been busy in the studio this week working with some incredible talent. Recently, a good friend of mine—an accomplished singer and actress—came in for updated headshots for her upcoming performance in Florida.

I always stress to my clients how crucial it is to get their headshots done by a professional photographer. A high-quality, professionally crafted image can make all the difference when presenting yourself to potential employers or building your personal brand.

I can instantly tell when headshots are taken with a cell phone or generated by AI—and here’s the truth: when you finally meet your future employer in person, you want to look just as polished and confident as your photo suggests.

Remember, the first impression lasts. Invest in your professional image—it’s worth it.

Good evening, Facebook family!

On September 6, 2025, we finally had our long-awaited workshop, “The Lady In Red,” something we’d been planning for months. Our amazing model was our longtime favorite, Rebecca L. The workshop was full, with photographers joining us from Baltimore and Rockville, MD, for a fun and creative 4-hour session.

During the last 30 minutes, I showed everyone the new retouching software from Evoto, and I have to say, it wowed a lot of folks who hadn’t seen it before.

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for another awesome workshop late October at the historic Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. If you want to be part of any of our future workshops, just shoot me an email and I’ll add you to the list—just keep in mind seating is limited, and it’s usually first come, first served.

Good afternoon, Facebook family!

It’s been a bustling business Spring—and now, Summer—for me! I’m feeling incredibly grateful and excited because my son and his wonderful wife visited all the way from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he is stationed in the Air Force.
Their visit was extra special, as they’re expecting a baby this September! As a proud dad and photographer, I had the honor and absolute joy of capturing their maternity shoot right here at my home studio.

Maternity photography is such a cherished part of my work, and it was made even more special thanks to my dear friend, Paul Biederman. Thank you, Paul, for lending that gorgeous, long-flowing maternity dress from your daughter—those outdoor shots turned out magical!

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit my local State Farm agents during their agency meeting in Easton, MD, where I took professional headshots for them. Capturing headshots for State Farm agents has been a passion of mine for several years. In fact, when I was an agent myself, I had my State Farm office and, right below it, my professional studio. Many afternoons during lunch breaks or after hours, agents and their team members would stop by for a quick photo session to update their business cards and social media profiles.

Now that I’m retired from State Farm, I’m thrilled to focus on this full-time! I've noticed that many business owners haven’t had their headshots refreshed in several years. I recommend updating them at least every two years or whenever there’s a significant change in your appearance.
