Kirkjufellsloss (waterfalls) and Kirkjufell Mountain. Just missed a "sunny window" when we arrived. Then got pelted with "styrofoam bead snow" with a 40 mph wind. Waited 35-40 minutes for the next window to appear. It's the photography modo in Iceland, find the breaks in the clouds!

We got a shadow cameo on the last one too!

These were from Sunday night about an hour east of Vik Iceland to find clear skies. The Spring Equinox places the Aurora Oval perfectly for a great display. You could see the waves of color very clearly with the naked eye they were so bright!!!

We are in Iceland chasing a 25-30+ year dream of seeing Aurora. Everything was lined up; Coronal Oval, position (spring equinox) new moon, and had solar flares a couple of days ago. Tried last night to no avail. Clouds, snow storm, whiteout conditions and 50+ MPH winds yesterday and today. It actually gusted to 70 mph (22* F w WIND!) today and tonight when I was out shooting!!

It was looking pretty dim until...
The Goddess Aurora peaked out from behind the clouds for only about 20 minutes where we were staying at the Arnarstapi Hotel on the coast. Here's a sample of what I took. Dawn grabbed a few also that were very nice.
