Pick your favorite and comment below! Color or Black & White? 👇🏼

I love the nature tones and pops of color but I also love the grittiness of the black and white photo!

Either way, this session was absolutely stunning with the sagebrush, mountain view, a beautiful bridle horse and her cowgirl 🤍

✨This print is a reminder that the most ordinary moments often become the most magical.

This mama and her babe have become a best seller in my print shop for obvious reasons. They bring a touch of tenderness and real ranch life to any room.

It’s funny because I was just having a conversation with someone about how even though I have always loved packing a camera around since I was a teenager, I never really envisioned myself doing this for a living. But here I am! And honestly it makes so much sense 😂

Twelve things I struggle with as an equine and western lifestyle photographer 👇🏼
1. Finding the balance between perfected photos and real life
2. Interacting with new people as a very introverted person
3. Accidentally cutting off feet in photos and having to be VERY conscious about it 😅
4. Sitting at my desk doing computer work all day
5. Imposter syndrome, need I say more?
6. Trying to make horses and humans both look good at the same time because somebody is always making a weird face
7. Explaining that candid photos actually take a lot of intention and skill
8. Fighting wind, dust, harsh sun, cold days, and still making it look beautiful
9. Trying not to compare my work to photographers in completely different industries and styles
10. Being the photographer, editor, marketer, accountant, social media manager, and customer service rep all at once
11. Delivering galleries and then overthinking whether people actually love the photos
12. Explaining that western lifestyle photography is more than just an aesthetic

Color or B&W? Comment which one are you picking!

I took this last fall on a rainy day while the horses were running around, bucking, kicking, just being wild and gambling with the emergency vet bill fund. And if you’ve ever owned a grey, you already know… they’ll find the mud every single time.

The color version has been in the print shop for a bit, but I finally tried it in black and white and I can’t stop coming back to it. It feels like the story comes through stronger, like you can feel the moment a little more. And the way his mane is flying just adds that extra bit of attitude and emotion that pulls you right in.

But I still love the pop of color you get from the landscape in the color version. You can also get a better sense of his love for rain and mud!

Both versions are in my Print Shop now! You can go see all the ways to print it through the link in my bio and follow .d.danae for more real ranch life prints that not only look good in your home, but also bring out the real emotions of this lifestyle.
