SATURDAY DONATION DRIVE UPDATE:

Truckloads of items we helped collect are headed to Calvary Church in Spokane this morning with Smile-A-Mile Painting, including donations collected at Koala Cafe, Copper Top Tap House and Growler Fills, excess items from Brookdale, and so many of you who personally dropped donations off at my home.

Another U-Haul filled with many of the donations collected at Windermere Real Estate and Wilco is headed to Spokane as well!

To everyone who has been donating, sorting, hauling, transporting, opening their doors as a drop point, or helping in any way, it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you!

It’s also been pretty surreal to see this little community effort picked up by Apple Valley News Now, KEPR Action News, and KIMA Action News. What started as a way to help after my own grandma lost her home has turned into something so much bigger than I ever expected.

We’re taking a little break this weekend, but there’s more to come in the week ahead! 💛

Support the businesses that support your community.

Something this week has made me think a lot about where we choose to spend our money.

When people need help, the businesses opening their doors, collecting donations, offering resources, sharing posts, sponsoring events, and simply asking, “What can we do?” are so often locally owned small businesses.

That’s the thing about shopping local. When you spend $20 at a small business instead of Amazon, Walmart, or Target, you’re not just buying something.

You’re supporting the family that lives down the street. You’re helping employ someone in your community. You’re supporting the business that sponsors the local team, donates to the fundraiser, gives to the family who lost everything, and steps up when someone needs a helping hand.

The money we spend locally doesn’t just support a business. It supports the community around us. Small businesses are our friends, our families, and our neighbors. And when our communities need them, they show up. So when you have the choice, choose local. Support the people who support all of us. 👏🏼

Tri-Cities, WA - As devastating wildfires continue to impact the Spokane area. A local woman, Kaila Homes has partnered with local businesses across the Tri-Cities to step up and help

DONATION UPDATE: GIFT CARDS + ESSENTIALS ONLY 🙏🏼

The Spokane wildfires have displaced countless families, and all donations collected through this drive will be delivered directly to Spokane on August 16th. Members of my own family lost everything in these fires, so seeing our community rally around our neighbors has meant more than I can put into words.

A huge thank you to the local businesses serving as collection sites and to every single person who has donated, shared, transported, sorted, or helped along the way. If you can’t donate, simply sharing this post helps! Follow on Instagram for more updates.

We do family sessions a little differently around here! Little sister absolutely stole the show this day, and instead of stiff poses, we focused on twirling, running, laughing, and tickling each other to create a fun, positive experience the girls will actually remember. These are the moments that matter most.

I’ve been photographing families in the area for nearly a decade, and I’m currently looking for a beautiful private property or venue that may be open to occasional family photo sessions this season! ✨ I’m happy to either pay a location fee per session or trade a photoshoot in return.

Ideally looking for:
• Open lawn or green grass
• Mature green trees or natural shade
• A spot where the sun sets nicely in the background
• Family-friendly + safe/easy to access
• Preferably not directly near the Yakima River due to ticks

I schedule ahead of time, so there would never be any random drop-ins. I’d always communicate potential session dates in advance and keep things respectful. 💛 If this sounds like you or someone you know, please message me or share this post with them! I especially love hidden gems around the Tri-Cities area. 😊
