Hello clients, friends, & family!

Just posting to communicate a small change I've made recently. If you are an established client or friend/family, & used to communicating with me through text about sessions...

I now have a work number that I would like all photography related questions & booking to go to! Lots of changes & things going on behind the scenes over here & in attempt to make things more manageable for my lil ADHD self, I have made this slight change.

Set a challenge for myself to post a “mini wedding gallery.” I’ve realized I don’t always do a great job of posting a little bit of all points in a wedding day & tend to gravitate towards pretty details & portraits of the newlywed couple. The intent behind this post if to give a better look into a full gallery from me & what you could expect in your own gallery when working with me.🤍 Comment below & tell me what other kind of shots you’d like to see more of in the future.✨

My favorite thing to suggest to couples is WHOLE GROUP shots during the reception. & when I say whole group… I mean EVERYONE. Why?
1.) it ensures you have a photo with every single person that celebrated with you on your wedding day. Regardless of how busy the night is you know you have a designated time for everyone to get together & a memory that’s captured forever.
2.) it can be used as a silly little ice breaker & excuse to get everyone on the dance floor with you.
3.) it takes some of the stress of getting candids with all of your guests off of you & me.🤪 jk I live for the candids, but it does help some with the mental math.
4.) it makes for a great photo to send out with thank you cards after your wedding. 💕

If you book with me ask me to bring my ladder & I’ll know what to do from there.😉(bonus points if your venue has a second floor I can take this shot from! Been waiting for that moment/shot.😍)

I used to be scared of family sessions. Intimidated, would be a better word, I guess. I didn’t quite understand the dynamics & magic of parenthood (& childhood) & how to capture it in a way that did it justice. Since having Julian, it’s made things flow so much better & everything makes sense now. It’s all about the little moments & personal details. I used to put so much pressure on making family sessions look perfect, but now I know that it’s the imperfections, emotions, chaos, wonder & bond that really matter. No family is the same, no child, or parent is the same & that’s kind of the whole point.🤍

If you know me, or have been following me for a little bit now, you know maternity, postpartum, & all things motherhood & babies have a special place in my heart. This year I’m doing something a bit different from my norm & going a more creative & (dare I say) editorial route to celebrate Mother’s Day.

So often as a mom, I find myself behind the camera taking photos of everyone I love with my son & scrolling through my camera roll at night wishing I had more with me in them. A lot of the time I just don’t feel like I look “good enough” to be in them, or I don’t think to ask someone else to document me in the moment, but I’ve been trying to get out of my own way & show up in photos more. My son won’t care what I looked like in photos, just that I was there. & one day, that’s all he will have to look back on. Take the damn photos.🤍

Moms, sign up for a mini session for yourself to celebrate you & your journey, or better yet… Partners, book a session for the mom in your life, so she can continue to show up for your family for decades to come. 🤍
