I can’t count the number of times that I have been told that I am a strong woman.

This tells me that there are many people in the world who believe strength is a character quality to be desired.

I used to be one of them.

Could it be persistence?

Maybe quiet suffering?

Possibly the fact that one keeps showing up?

Regardless what it seems, the truth is I am not strong at all…

…I just pray a lot.

I’ve experienced many things in my years on this earth and most often through challenge-filled situations and interactions.

At the core of it all was not a superwoman.

And definitely not a supermom.

But rather a constant conversation with my Lord and Savior.

It’s not an easy thing, but a necessary thing.

Many days take a slow crawl toward surrendering my weaknesses and an admission of my inability to move forward in my own way.

I don’t share this to receive pity but instead to invite others to truth.

I’m here to encourage all my mom friends against having the kind of strength that keeps you proud and unable to receive the power that our God has to cover us.

Don’t have it all together, let Him help you.

Don’t know it all, let Him show you.

Don’t be all things to all people, rest in Him.

Don’t be strong, because His power is made Perfect in weakness.
