Two years ago, I traveled to Guatemala with my camera, thinking I was simply going to take beautiful photographs.

Looking back, I realize I came home with something much more valuable.

These images taught me to slow down. To observe before pressing the shutter. To find beauty in honest moments instead of trying to create them. They helped me understand that photography isn’t just about documenting what we see—it’s about translating what we feel.

When I revisit these photographs today, I can see the beginning of the style I’m still refining: intentional, emotional, and deeply connected to people and place.

As photographers, our portfolios aren’t just collections of images. They’re chapters of our growth.

I’m grateful for every season, every mistake, every lesson, and every photograph that has shaped the artist I continue to become.

Growth doesn’t erase where we started—it gives it meaning.
