From a Zoom planning session to the real thing — Lucas wanted a quiet corner of busy Newport for his proposal to Julia, and we found it.

🌉 Narragansett Bay, the Newport Bridge in the background, and just the two of them (and a me watching from the bushes 👀).

She said yes! 💕

Saturday afternoon’s forecast looked ugly — dark skies, heavy rain, and thunderstorms rolling in. Normally I’d check in with my client ahead of a shoot, but David had asked for radio silence, so it was a total mystery how this was going to go. 🌩️

The plan: 6 pm at the Sachuest Point Visitor Center, where David (a biologist) had invited Natalie out under the cover of a “work event.” Watching the radar, it looked like there might be a small window right around proposal time.

When I got there at 5:30, it was pouring. I took a quick walk to scope the spot, then retreated straight back to my truck to wait it out, eyes glued to the radar. And right as I stepped out again... the rain broke. It held off just long enough for David to get down on one knee — and yes, Natalie said yes! 💍 Then it started right back up, and we finished the shoot tucked under the visitor center overhang, cozy and dry.

The second we wrapped, the sky let loose — heavy rain, wind, thunder, lightning, the works. Made for a slow, sketchy drive home, but so worth it. Nice work, David — the weather gods were clearly on your side. ⛈️

On Friday night, I had the pleasure of photographing Mikail’s proposal to Hidayet at Beavertail State Park during golden hour. 🌅💍

When Mikail first reached out, his only ask was: “somewhere we can be fairly alone, that has a view of a lighthouse, close to sunset.” Beavertail delivered, big time.

They traveled all the way from Albany, NY, and were absolutely blown away by the views this place offers.

Congrats again to you both! 🥂

🌅💍 Mother Nature really said “let me set the mood” — that hazy golden filter over Beavertail yesterday, courtesy of wildfire smoke drifting in from Canada and Minnesota, made for the dreamiest backdrop for Ben’s proposal to Michelle. When I first got there the air still tasted like smoke, but it cleared right up just as the family rolled in.

This crew road-tripped from NYC (originally starting their trip from their Arizona’s home 🌵), with 3-year-old Carter along for the ride. And as if on cue, Carter dozed off in the stroller at just the right moment — giving Ben and Michelle a few steps away to make it official. Michelle had zero clue what was coming. Well played, Ben. 🥹

Congratulations to this beautiful family!

❄️🔥 Currently sweating through a 90° day, so please enjoy this little blast of winter: Maigan getting down on one knee in the snow for Kayla — who, for the record, showed up in light shoes like it was already spring.

Cold feet? Never. 🥶💍

When Matt first reached out to me, he was looking at the Ledge Road entrance to Cliff Walk. Gorgeous spot, but logistically tricky — only a handful of parking spots. If either of us couldn’t park, the whole proposal shoot would be a bust. 😅

So we hopped on Zoom, I walked him through a few locations, and he landed on Beavertail State Park — it hit everything he knew Rachel would love for his proposal. 💍

When he dropped to one knee with that magnificent coastline behind him, she was radiant and completely surprised. 🌊✨

Chatting with them afterward, Rachel said Beavertail “was just perfect.”

Nicely done, Matt. 👏

Behind-the-scenes of proposal planning: this is why I keep a running calendar of events that could crash a shoot. 📅✨

When Robert and I hopped on a Zoom to map out his surprise for Lauren, I could see it immediately — his window at Beavertail was about to collide with the Beavertail Soundbath, a beloved local event that draws several hundred people out for an evening of vibrational sound therapy, stress relief, and mindful unwinding under the stars. Beautiful for them, not so beautiful for a private proposal. 🎐

So we got strategic: Soundbath started at 6:30, so we set Robert’s moment with Lauren for 5:30. The timing worked out perfectly — when we arrived, organizers were just setting up. By the time we left, there wasn’t a parking spot left in the whole park. 🚗

Robert and Lauren took their time — a relaxed walk around the lighthouse, some photos, dinner reservations waiting at The Mooring in Newport. And when they reached the spot, they had it completely to themselves. No crowds, no witnesses, just the two of them. He got down on one knee and Lauren was completely, genuinely surprised. 💍

Congrats to this fun, wonderful couple — so grateful I got to capture it. 🥂

The crew behind yesterday’s 7:30am proposal. 📸

Meet Thea and Alex — and yes, Alex is the genius who built that blind that I posted yesterday.

And it worked perfectly. Thea had absolutely no idea I was hiding just yards away, which meant I got to capture the entire surprise unfold in real time — all of it completely candid because she truly never saw it coming.

Earliest proposal I’ve ever shot, and one of the most creative setups I’ve ever worked with. Huge congrats to this fun, awesome couple — thanks for letting me be part of it. 🥂💍

7:30am. A farm. Nowhere to hide. 🌾

That’s the position I was in this morning — no tree line, no rock formations, no natural cover to disappear into. So my client did something I’ve never had happen: he built me a blind. An actual, physical hiding spot, constructed just so I could capture the moment without being seen. 🙈📸

First time for everything. And it worked —she had no idea I was there until it was time to press the shutter.

This is what I love about this job. Every proposal is a puzzle, and sometimes the client becomes part of the crew to help solve it. 💍

🙏 A heartfelt thank you to my incredible clients who have gifted me 330 Google 5-Star reviews

Taking time out of your day to leave a review is a genuine gift — especially with how many businesses ask for that same favor. It never goes unnoticed, and it means the world to me.

Today, a special thank you to Anthony for these kind words:

“We had an amazing experience working with George for our proposal photos. From the very beginning, his communication was excellent and he took the time to speak with me beforehand to help plan and prepare for the moment. I was definitely nervous leading up to the proposal, but George’s professionalism, guidance, and calm demeanor gave me a lot more confidence going into it

On the day of the proposal, he was incredibly polite, personable, and made both of us feel completely comfortable. The entire experience felt natural and special, and the photos came out absolutely incredible. He captured every moment perfectly and truly made us feel like models for the day.
I couldn’t recommend George more highly to anyone looking for a talented photographer who genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience. Thank you again for helping make such an important day unforgettable!”

— Anthony

To Anthony, and to every client who’s trusted me with one of the biggest moments of their life — thank you. Reviews like this are what keep me showing up fully for every single proposal. 💍📸
