I've been wanting to travel to Iceland for 3 or 4 years now and finally pulled the trigger and made the surprisingly short flight over from DC the first week of September. My longtime friend Joe (we've know each other since we were 9 I think) was kind enough to join me and pull some extra driving duty when I was unable to shake a nasty stomach bug for the first half of the trip, owe you buddy! Recently picked up a Pentax K1 and I'm pretty happy with it so far. 36 mega pixels is overkill for most of the photography that I do, but now that I've figured out how to handle these (enormous) files in Lightroom (thanks to the Huelight Color Profiles, the Adobe ones for Pentax are garbage) I'm happy with the images I'm getting. After a whole lot of research and deliberation I recently pulled the trigger a new toy for an upcoming trip to Iceland (two weeks, can't wait!). I chose the K1 for a few reasons; Price ($1800 which is dirt cheap for a modern full frame DSLR) The 36mp Sony sensor (same as the A7r an Nikon D800) WEATHER SEALING (Iceland is notorious for unpredictable weather and I have had cameras fail on me due to rain before) [ 241 more words ]
