Background: My name is Taylor Cyrus and I'm married to a U.S Army Veteran. I have two children: a son named Beau and a daughter named Lyric. My husband recently got out of the military and we moved back home to the Richmond area where both of us grew up. I was pregnant with our son in 2011 when a good friend of mine who is a wonderful photographer named Lindsay Minier took my maternity pics and sh
e inspired me! The beauty of the moments she captured in my photos made me want to do the same for other people... but with lack of equipment it wasn't possible. Then a couple years down the road wonderful friend of mine Melissa Adair (My little brother's girlfriend's mother) noticed my passion for photography and gifted me a Canon Rebel XTI with lenses & another friend Robbie Beatty gave me some more lenses. So my camera is a heirloom of some sorts... passed on from a photographer to another. My focus was definitely & obviously my children to begin with... I wanted so badly to capture their special moments and milestones... every single one. For the longest time I used my iPhone... I didn't have the camera to capture them so I just used what was available to me. My photography interest flourished TIMES 1,000 with the birth of my daughter... not that my son means anything less to me.. or that he is any less cute because trust me he's WAYYY cute... but all the cute outfits girls have & her being able to wear my baby clothes and the countless heirlooms that she inherited from myself, my mother, my grand mothers, and GREAT grandmothers, the possibilities to re-create the past with photography for me were endless. Which really brings me to what I will definitely focus on in my own personal photography which is heirlooms. I am happy to do couples, maternity, baby, family sessions etc. but I would love to bring the past to the present by bringing in family heirlooms and putting them to use in your pictures and mine. So I created this website to give insight about myself and my photography.. to let you enjoy and see the beauty in the things we hold onto... and create sentimental photos of you and your family and your heirlooms to pass on to the many generations ahead. As of this month and probably a few more I am JUST doing family & friends photography and I am working out of my house during the week and I can travel to location some weekends. Please feel free to contact me on my cell & leave a voice message if you are interested in a photography session.. text and emails or facebook PMs are fine too!
