Last weekend, I had the privilege (along with some of my loved ones) of visiting Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for the first time since I was a kid. It was, as always, a hauntingly beautiful and somber experience.
It was a gorgeous autumn afternoon with vivid colors all around, but it started raining right when it was time for the Changing of the Guard, and the rain increased as the Wreath-Laying Ceremonies began...almost as if creation itself was acknowledging the solemnity of the occasion.
If you have never had the opportunity to visit this hallowed place, or even if it has just been a while, I urge you--go. There's nothing else quite like it.🙏🏻💞🇺🇲
