Schriner's Iris Farm absolutely lived up to the hype… but honestly, it was so much more than just iris.
I went expecting rows of flowers, similar to the Wooden Shoe Tulips and Adelman Peonies, and left completely distracted by color, texture, light, tiny details, and hover flies that decided they were the real stars of the show.
Spent a good chunk of the morning crawling around with the macro lens chasing little moments between the blooms. The gardens were stunning, but the tiny worlds tucked inside the flowers may have been my favorite part.
Also confirmed: hover flies are far more cooperative photography subjects than bees.
A few favorites from that morning in Salem.
