I have three memory cards full of Fall foliage images, yet this image of a small aspen grove as I was leaving the forest to head back home is one of my favorites... for its simplicity and the sense of mystery it triggers within. That Frost guy must have been on to something when he penned those lines back in 1922...

“Coz I love a rainy night 🎶”... While scouting this incredible wildflower basin, I came upon this patch of rare white columbines just as the first drops of another night of non-stop rain started falling,.
There was something especially cool about seeing my favorite flowers (and that too - in this rare color) set against the backdrop of the majestic San Juan peaks... as if someone had precisely positioned them just for that moment. ‘Twas one of those rare moments when this usually busy spot was all to myself; maybe the weather forecast scared visitors from arriving that evening but I wasn’t complaining about having the whole vista to myself and merrily stayed photographing various compositions until the light ended. Tell me what you think of the dark tones in comments below.. I may have gone a bit overboard with processing this differently than my usual style
