Despondent Embers 🔥

A brief update on recent efforts to protect their vineyards from an early Spring frost. Unfortunately about half of their crop was lost this season due to the overnight freezing temperatures. It's a difficult time for the winery, but they're thankful for what remains and look forward to the future harvest.

A brief update on Unionville Vineyards recent efforts to protect their vineyards from an early Spring frost. Candle-lit Path at Dawn 🕯️

I recently had the opportunity to document efforts to protect one of their many grape fields from an early spring frost by use of over a hundred candles. These fires, lining the vine rows, act as a last-resort method when temperatures drop dangerously low, after the buds appear, preventing the destruction of young shoots. The process is monitored throughout the night to ensure the candles stay lit and the vines remain safe.
